MLB: Ranking The Best Fan Bases

Baseball has some of the most loyal and passionate fans of any sport around the world. Even if they don’t show up at the ballpark, they are watching every game, constantly checking the score and rooting for their favorite ballclub. With that being said, here are the 10 best fan bases in MLB right now:

1. Chicago Cubs

The Chicago Cubs fans have endured many losing seasons and, at one point, probably felt that they would never get back to a World Series, let alone win. Of course, in 2016, the long wait was finally over, as the Cubs won it all, and the loyal fans were rewarded.

2. Boston Red Sox

The Red Sox don’t only have a huge fan base; they are as loyal and committed as any fan base in any sport. Like the Cubs fans, Red Sox fans had to wait over 100 years to win a World Series. Since their championship in 2004, they have been one of the most successful teams in MLB, and their fans are there to witness it every step of the way.

3. St. Louis Cardinals

The St. Louis Cardinals are one of the most historic franchises in MLB, and their fans consistently show up to the ballpark whether the team is good or not. They are not in contention in 2025, but that will not affect their attendance or their fan base’s loyalty.

4. Atlanta Braves

The Atlanta Braves do a great job of filling their stadium, and they have been one of the most successful teams in MLB since the early 90’s. Although they have only won 2 World Series since 1995, they have appeared in four others that they lost. The team is set up for success again in 2025, and you can expect the stadium to be packed.

5. Los Angeles Dodgers

The Dodgers aren’t just on this list because they are the defending World Series Champions. They Constantly fill up their stadium, and ownership’s dedication to spending a lot of money on their players has kept fans engaged and excited about the on-field product.

6. San Francisco Giants

The San Francisco Giants fans were spoiled in the 2010’s. Their team appeared in 3 World Series and won them all. Although the on-field product hasn’t been anything special over the past 10 years, the fans remain loyal and incredibly supportive.

7. New York Yankees

The Yankees fans can definitely be fickle, and they can get on their players when they underperform, but they are also some of the most loyal, passionate fan bases around. The Yankees are beloved internationally as well, and their brand alone makes them incredibly popular.

8. Philadelphia Phillies

Philadelphia sports fans typically get a bad reputation for being rude or inconsiderate of opposing fans, teams, and players. Although it might be true, they act that way because of how passionate they are about their own team. The Phillies are one of the best teams in the NL right now and the fans will be sure to let you know about it.

9. Houston Astros

The Astros are one team on this list that may not last very long. Right now, they are very popular; their fans seem loyal and great. Why wouldn’t they be, though? Since 2017, the Astros have had more success than any team in the American League. The thing is, over the past couple of seasons, they have lost key members of those teams, and they are no longer the powerhouse they once were. It is yet to be seen if the fans will remain loyal when things aren’t going well.

10. Texas Rangers

It took the Rangers a long time to win a World Series, but they finally did it in 2023. Their fans stuck by them during the down times, though, and never gave up hope even when they lost back-to-back World Series in 2010 and 2011.
