Hi, what are you looking for?

NFL

The Weekly Dynasty Football Journal

We are looking forward to Week 4 and the ¼ pole of the fantasy regular season.  I try to stay patient up to this point, being very selective about any drops I make, filtering them through the lens of why I drafted the player or why the player is even on my roster.  This year, looking at 3 separate builds will give you a bird’s-eye view of how I manage each of these very different builds.

Danger Family

I’m really enjoying playing in this league as the format of a 1QB starting lineup allows me to revert to some old playing styles and really sharpen my skills.  Since we play against the median score each week, I’m able to begin with a 6-0 record and in the #1 position with 56 more total points.  This week, I play the #2 seed with a 5-1 record, which makes for a great early-season matchup.  So far, this team hasn’t made any trades; however, I have made 5 waiver claims and 14 free agent pickups.  I am holding a 2nd QB currently because Fields is day to day, and I want to be able to pivot; however, I will be looking to slide back to only having Fields as soon as he’s healthy.  I’m also currently holding Addison as he returns this week; however, I will be needing him next week to cover the byes.  I have 4 RBs on the bench with Spears on IR, which I’m hoping to activate next week.  I am looking ahead to having a WR on bye, but also my defense on bye, so I’ll be looking to make sure I have some quality defenses available.

TFFL2

This is the team that drafted lots of QBs, and even though the bye weeks begin next week, the QB room has diminished a bit, as having tons of QBs has finally created panic with the other owners.  A 1-2 record isn’t ideal; however, it isn’t a team that is in must-win territory yet.  Drafting lots of QBs enabled this team to weather the storm of losing Burrow and still be in a good spot at both QB positions.  Lots of emphasis on the QB room, but also features McBride at TE, which wins that position most weeks.  I’ve been able to put 2WR and 1RB on the bench that might be ready to start in week 6 and week 7 when my first bye weeks take shape.  I still have 6 starting QBs on the bench with my 2 Starters.  I face the #6 seed with a 2-1 record this week, so I’m looking for a small upset to get to a .500 record.

Clown Head Redraft I

This team drafted Lamb and is working on weathering the storm.  Clinging to a 2-1 record, I’m now focusing on getting the team to 8 wins this year to get into the playoffs and get Lamb back for a playoff run.  This week, we’re facing off against the #5 team.  I’ll begin to explore some different options at WR on this team, using some of the TE or QB depth as a trade chip.  Starting 2 TE with 3pt ppr and also 2QB will be able to utilize some of that depth to get some WR to replace Lamb in the short term.
