An over-the-hill great, who many considered to be the best there ever was, has tried making a comeback, and it hasn’t gone well. No, I’m not talking about Aaron Rodgers; I’m talking about 58-year-old Mike Tyson.

I bring it up because that was the most excitement in AT&T Stadium this season. It was nice to see Jerry Jones with a smile during an event at his home. The stars were out, including the Playmaker Michael Irvin. Gronk was there, and I think he challenged Shaq to a fight…but he seemed inebriated. And of course, being a Netflix production, they hyped one of their flagships: Cobra Kai…showing Ralph Macchio and William Zabka.

The two undercards were far more exciting than the Main Event. As the saying goes, “Father Time is undefeated”. It was a lackluster performance, not dissimilar to the Cowboys this season, but still, to be 58 years old and have the audacity to get into a wing with someone half his age is amazing…even if it was only Jake Paul.

Mike Tyson should definitely not have been on that football field. Here is a list of NFL players who won’t be on a football field this week.

Dallas Cowboys-QB Dak Prescott: Prescott has already been ruled out for the year, which makes for the longest two months ever for Cowboys fans.

Jacksonville Jaguars-QB Trevor Lawrence: Lawrence is missing his second game in a row with a shoulder injury. The team is going nowhere fast this season, and the Doug Pederson watch is on. The Mac Jones watch is on, too. This will be his second start to claw back into NFL relevance.

Jacksonville Jaguars-RB Tank Bigsby: Bigsby and Travis Etienne were supposed to be one of the best backfield tandems in the league, but it never materialized. Each man has shown flashes, but neither has moved the needle towards success for the Jags. This is starting to look like a complete teardown, with no man safe.

Detroit Lions-TE Sam Laporta: Laporta has had an underwhelming season, and he’s injured now. Last season, he had 86 catches with 10 TDs and gained 889 passing yards. In nine games this season, he only has 25 catches and 366 yards. Going into this season, I thought that for the Lions to take the next step, Laporta would need to do even more…but they haven’t missed a beat. His presence in the lineup has been enough to draw defenses. It will be interesting to see what happens with him out.

Seattle Seahawks-TE Noah Fant: Fant is out with a groin injury. And although he may not be as much of a difference maker as, say, DK Metcalf would be, he is still a very serviceable player in their offense and a fantastic check-down option and safety blanket for Geno Smith. Heading into San Francisco against a healthy Niners team, Seattle needs to be as healthy as possible, and not having Fant hurts their chances.

Buffalo Bills-WR Keon Coleman: The rookie WR has gotten more comfortable in Buffalo’s offense, and Josh Allen has gotten more comfortable with him. Coleman was targeted seven times in each game in the two weeks before last week’s injury. He had nine catches for 195 yards and a TD in those games. This is a big loss heading into the most important game of the year against the Chiefs.

Buffalo Bills-TE Dalton Kincaid: Kincaid is also a big loss for the Bills. Allen is a gunslinger but likes to throw at his TEs. Thankfully, they have two very viable options. With Kincaid out, fellow TE Dawson Knox will need a big game to give the Bills the best chance to defeat the Chiefs.

It’s never too early:

Now that we are in week 11 and well beyond the halfway point of the season, it’s not too early to start looking at the 2025 NFL Draft and see where some of the worst teams in the league are at.

As of today, here’s the top 10 picks:

  • Jacksonville Jaguars
  • New York Giants
  • Cleveland Browns
  • Tennessee Titans
  • Las Vegas Raiders
  • New England Patriots
  • Carolina Panthers
  • New York Jets
  • New Orleans Saints
  • Miami Dolphins

And just missing the top 10, sitting just outside, at no.11, is the Dallas Cowboys. There are truly some bad teams on this list, and it will be interesting to see which teams may fall out of the top 10, allowing the Cowboys to slide in. When the smoke clears, the Dolphins will win a handful more games, leaving the top 10, with the Cowboys firmly entrenched. And with Carolina, New England, and the Saints showing glimpses, there’s a chance this Cowboys team can threaten a top 5 spot.
