MLB’s Hottest Hitters – Week 9

Whether it’s moonshot home runs, clutch base hits, or multi-hit games that just won’t quit, these dawgs have been on absolute fire. We’re breaking down the hottest players at the plate from the past week—guys who’ve been raking, slugging, and turning heads with every swing. Let’s take a look at who tore it up and made noise last week around the league.

Trea Turner, SS – Philadelphia Phillies

Last Week’s Line: .400/.441/.833/1.275, 3 HR, 8 RBI, 8 R, 4 SB

Trea woke up in a big way last week, with five multi-hit games, 16 runs produced, and four swipes.

Seiya Suzuki, OF – Chicago Cubs

Last Week’s Line: .480/.552/1.000/1.552, 3 HR, 10 RBI, 9 R, 0 SB

Part of an outfield that is absolutely terrorizing MLB pitching, Seiya hit safely in all seven games (including three 3-hit performances) and produced an astonishing 19 runs.

Taylor Ward, OF – Los Angeles Angels

Last Week’s Line: .407/.419/.963/1.382, 3 HR, 12 RBI, 9 R, 0 SB

21. Twenty-one. That’s how many runs Taylor produced last week. There has not been much to cheer about in Los Angeles (other than the Dodgers), but Taylor did his best last week.

Oneil Cruz, SS/OF – Pittsburgh Pirates

Last Week’s Line: .318/.444/.864/1.308, 3 HR, 5 RBI, 7 R, 2 SB

After a few weeks off with back issues, Cruz roared back last week, chipping in all over the place. Go watch the nuke he hit off Logan Henderson last week. Seriously. Hardest hit ball in the Statcast era at 122.9 MPH.

Isaac Paredes, 3B – Houston Astros

Last Week’s Line: .367/.406/.800/1.206, 4 HR, 7 RBI, 7 R, 0 SB

Probably the best hitter on the Astros at the moment, with Altuve struggling and Yordan not quite Yordan’ing yet. Paredes knows how to get on base and knows what to do when he gets there – 14 runs produced last week alone.

Nick Kurtz, 1B – Athletics

Last Week’s Line: .333/.444/.905/1.349, 4 HR, 9 RBI, 5 R, 0 SB

I’m super excited for this kid’s arrival, and he didn’t take long to kick in. Four home runs (three against the Angels), 14 runs produced, and an OBP north of .440.

Logan O’Hoppe, C – Los Angeles Angels

Last Week’s Line: .370/.393/.852/1.245, 4 HR, 7 RBI, 6 R, 0 SB

O’Hoppe did his damage against the Athletics, going on a three-game bender that produced four homers and six runs/ribeyesapiece.

Rafael Devers, DH – Boston Red Sox

Last Week’s Line: .308/.419/.692/1.112, 3 HR, 10 RBI, 6 R, 0 SB

Don’t ask him to play first, and with Bregman headed to the IL they probably won’t. Huge game against Baltimore Friday night (4/6, 2 HR, 8 RBI, 3 runs).

Aaron Judge, OF – New York Yankees

Last Week’s Line: .364/.462/.818/1.280, 3 HR, 6 RBI, 6 R, 1 SB

Just Aaron Judge out here doing what Aaron Judge does. Standard week for the captain, with steady, elite production all week (season) long.

Kyle Schwarber, DH – Philadelphia Phillies

Last Week’s Line: .250/.455/.667/1.121, 3 HR, 5 RBI, 9 R, 0 SB

Schwarber batting above the Mendoza line is an unexpected development, and one the NL East isn’t ready for.
