This Weeks Record: 9-7-1
Last Weeks Record: 10-6-1
Past Seven Weeks Record: 66-49-6
Matt Waldron MORE than 4.5 Strikeouts
Waldron has a great matchup tonight, facing the Miami Marlins in a pitcher-friendly Miami ballpark. The Marlins offense ranks 29th in runs per game, OBP, and SLG this season, so he should have his way with them. Waldron has struck out five or more batters in three of his past four starts and six of his past nine starts and did so against much tougher opponents than the Marlins. I picked on the Marlins in my article yesterday, as I took Martin Perez to have more than four strikeouts, and he delivered a six-strikeout performance. To provide some more context here, Perez has a 7.1 K/9 this season and a career 6.3 K/9. Waldron has an 8.1 K/9 this season and a career 7.8 K/9.
Rafael Devers MORE than 1.5 Total Bases
Devers has at least one hit in 13 of his past 15 games. He has 11 extra-base hits during that stretch, and all he needs tonight is one to win this prop. Of course, that’s no guarantee, but there’s also the possibility of him getting a multi-hit game and winning the prop that way. During the aforementioned 15 games, Devers has eight multi-hit games. He is in a great matchup tonight against Astros RHP Spencer Arrighetti. Arrighetti has a 5.33 ERA and 1.52 WHIP this season. The game is being played in Boston, where Devers has batted .316 this season with a .398 OBP and 1.024 OPS.
Logan Webb MORE than 5 Strikeouts
Webb has recorded five or more strikeouts in 13 of his past 16 starts, and in the games he failed to reach that number, he still had four. His matchup tonight is a good one, though, as he is taking on a weak-hitting and inconsistent Tigers lineup. Webb will be pitching at home tonight, which is a big deal because he has been much better there this season. His home ERA and WHIP are 2.61 and 1.07 compared to his road numbers of a 4.11 ERA and 1.44 WHIP.
Aaron Judge MORE than 9.5 Fantasy Points
The AL MVP front-runner went hitless in his last game. That’s noteworthy because Judge has gone hitless in back-to-back games only once since the all-star break, so chances are, tonight he will be back to doing “Judgian Things.” I wanted to play his prop for fantasy points yesterday, but the game was rained out, and a doubleheader will be played today. It’s important to note that this prop is for the second game of the doubleheader, but I am also going to suggest you play the “MORE” on 0.5 runs from Judge in the first game. He will face Rangers starter Cody Bradford in the second game, who has solid numbers this season with a 3.96 ERA and 0.92 WHIP, but Bradford hasn’t been good lately. He has allowed eight ER and three HR in just 5.2 innings in his past two starts.
