The fantasy season is in the books. My redraft teams are divided into 3 categories: 3 teams based on total points, 7 head-to-head best-ball teams, & 6 traditional head-to-head teams for which I set lineups weekly. The total points teams: I was fortunate to finish 1st in two of them, and in the live league, I finished 3rd in points, allowing me to still cash in all three leagues. I was able to get all 7 of these teams to the playoffs and cash in on 3 of them; however, only 1 of these teams finished 1st. The 6 head-to-head redraft teams had 5 of the 5 make the playoffs. I was able to secure 1 championship from these 5 teams, with all 3 paid leagues receiving payouts. One thing I’m proud of this year is using 16 different drafting strategies, and I was able to return 4x the money. I want to review the three teams we outlined so we can break down the lessons learned.
Danger Family
This is the team that stayed in first place wire-to-wire and won the championship. The unique build that won here was simply drafting RBs and WRs in the 1st 13 rounds, then taking QB, TE, K, & Defense with the last 4 picks. That was too much quality in the RB and WR room for the other teams to overcome. I worked waivers early to secure some solid players in those single positions and focused on adding RBs whenever a potential starter emerged. The team had injuries, but I always had extra depth at RB, so they weren’t critical.
TFFL
This is the only team not to make the playoffs and have a chance at money. It finished 7th overall, winning the consolation bracket easily as the team came on, but starting 1-8 was too many losses to overcome, finishing 6-8. Early on, the team had 2 fewer than 1 point, and I could have made some draft-day changes that could have affected it. I think if I had to draft this team again, I would have put more early-round assets into WR or RB. If taking 9 QBs is to be viable, it needs to be in the RB dead zone. The other flaw was selecting a rookie RB as my RB1, as it usually takes too long for a player to take off and ascend. Since I’ll play with these same players next year I did however set up that they will take QBs early and often which should allow me to load up on RB’s and WR’s since I made the run I changed the players in the playoffs so this should set me up to get to the playoffs next year and ultimately beat them based on an overreaction to what happened this year.
Clown Head Redraft I
This team made it to the championship but came up short in week 17, finishing 2nd. Bijan and Dak had great games against my squad; Lamb, McConkey, London, & Meyers came up very small. Overall, I’m pleased with this team and chalk this loss up to variance, as my bad week happened to be week 17. The good news is that this league does pay 2nd place, so it adds to the cash stack.
Conclusion
Reflecting on the redraft season, I was fortunate to earn 4x my entry fees, so it has been a rewarding season. I hope you also had a great redraft season, and encourage you to review all draft resources we have and use Discord for draft tips to make your 2026 incrementally better than 2025.
