Week 2 of the NBA season is already shaking up expectations, with early contenders proving their strength and surprise teams making noise. Some squads are finding their rhythm fast, while others are still searching for consistency on both ends of the floor. Here’s how the league stacks up in this week’s Top 10 Power Rankings.

The Thunder are easily the best team in the NBA. They are currently the only undefeated team and are showing no signs of slowing down. Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and the defensive intensity are unlike any other team.
2. Denver Nuggets
The Nuggets have vastly improved from last season in their depth and team chemistry. Having Jokic will always have you as a contender, but when you surround him with shooters and guys who cut well, you create a great team.
3. San Antonio Spurs
The Spurs have been dominant in their first 6 games of the season, they are currently 5-,1 and have just looked really good. Victor Wembanyama looks like a top 3 player in the NBA and the clear defensive player of the year.
4. Philadelphia 76ers

VJ Edgecombe has been the biggest surprise in the NBA this season. The 76ers have been limiting the minutes Joel Embiid has been playing, so everyone else has had to step up, and this is clearly the right decision for the early portion of the season.
5. Los Angeles Lakers
Luke Doncic is currently averaging 41 points, 11 rebounds, and 8 assists. He has been a motor for the Lakers. The Lakers look much improved from last season, having a full season with one of the best players in the NBA certainly helps.
6. Cleveland Cavaliers
The Cavs have been solid to start the season, not as good as many people had hoped, but they have been plagued with injuries through the early portion of the season. Donovan Mitchell and Evan Mobley have been able to win them games, but they need Darius Garland and Max Strus to reach their full potential.
7. Los Angeles Clippers

The Clippers just pulled out their first close game of the season against the Pelicans. Any team with Kawhi Leonard and James Harden at any point in their career will be a threat in any conference.
8. Milwaukee Bucks
Giannis Antetokounmpo has been the best player on the planet this season. He is really the only player in the NBA who is fully carrying his team. His defensive and offensive impact has been absolutely massive for the Bucks.
9. Chicago Bulls

The Bulls started the season 4-0 and have gone 1-1 since then. They have been led by Josh Giddey being the motor for the offense. While they have been great, the Bulls strength of schedule is one of the weakest in the NBA.
10. Houston Rockets
The Rockets started the season 0-2 but have won 3 straight since then. There is more than just the standings when talking about the Rockets; they have been in close games in their losses and have looked really good as a whole team.
