The calendar has turned from April to May, so let’s look back on who the April MVP was for every National League team.
Atlanta Braves – SP Spencer Schwellenbach

A lot has gone wrong for the Braves in April, but Schwellenbach isn’t one of those things. He has been their ace while Sale has been inconsistent and Strider is hurt again.
Miami Marlins – SP Max Meyer

His latest outing didn’t go so well, but overall, Meyer is having a tremendous start to the season. Another player in consideration was Matt Mervis.
New York Mets – 1B Pete Alonso

Alonso has been the Mets most productive hitter so far this season. Although it’s likely that Lindor or Soto will end the year as the best, so far it’s clearly the Polar Bear.
Philadelphia Phillies – SP Jesus Luzardo

He has been outstanding for the Phillies and their best SP. This is saying a lot considering they also have Wheeler and Nola.
Washington Nationals – OF James Wood

He has power, he has speed, and he is leading a young Nationals lineup.
Chicago Cubs – OF Kyle Tucker

At first I was thinking about Carson Kelly who had an amazing April, but when you really compare stats and look at the big picture, Tucker is the best player on the Cubs.
Cincinnati Reds – SS Elly De La Cruz

This was actually one of the hardest teams to pick. I easily could have gone with Hunter Greene or Nick Lodolo, but Elly is my choice because, unlike the pitchers, he plays every day and is one of the most dynamic players in the league.
Milwaukee Brewers – OF Jackson Chourio

He is simply a delight to watch. Chourio is having an excellent season and is the clear offensive MVP for the Brewers. None of their SPs really stand out except for Jose Quintana, but Quintana missed half of April.
Pittsburgh Pirates – OF Oneil Cruz

He has really taken his game to the next level so far this season and is not just the Pirates MVP so far, but has been one of the most productive players in the National League.
St. Louis Cardinals – 2B Brendan Donovan

Donovan has been the most consistent player for the Cardinals this season and there is no telling how bad they might be if he wasn’t in their lineup.
Arizona Diamondbacks – OF Corbin Carroll

Many people could make a case for Eugenio Suarez here, but Suarez has done a lot of his damage in a few games, while Carroll is contributing every single night.
Colorado Rockies – OF Brenton Doyle

Like the White Sox, there isn’t much good going on for the Rockies. Rookie Jordan Beck has brought some optimism, but he hasn’t been playing until recently. Doyle is having a decent year and is the Rockies most complete player right now.
San Diego Padres – OF Fernando Tatis Jr.

Michael King has been great, but Tatis Jr. has been at another level so far in April. If he can remain healthy all season, there is no telling just how good he could be.
San Francisco Giants – SP Logan Webb

Webb is a legitimate ace in MLB and is leading a Giants team that has been one of the best in baseball so far.
Los Angeles Dodgers – SP Yoshinobu Yamamoto

Yamamoto looks to have taken another step this year after an up-and-down rookie season. He is the Dodgers best pitcher, and they need him with injuries to Glasnow and Snell.
