Round 2 of the College Football playoffs is here, and here are my game previews and score predictions!
Boise State vs Penn State
Some people are fully expecting Penn State to roll over Boise State in the Fiesta Bowl. Vegas has Penn State as -10.5. I would take Penn State to come out on top 24-30; there is a big gap between SMU and Boise State. I do expect Penn State to struggle a little bit, but having the quarterback advantage is what will ultimately allow them to come out on top.
Arizona State vs Texas
The biggest spread of the week at Texas is -12.5, I am fully expecting Texas to cover, and I will be taking Texas winning 38-17. Texas has a big advantage at the line of scrimmage. We were able to see this in their matchup against Clemson, where they completely dominated the trenches, combine that with a Big12 team that has not faced a team like Texas all year, and that is a recipe for disaster for the Sun Devils.
Ohio State vs Oregon
This matchup will be a high-octane back-and-forth, as it was in the first matchup between these two teams. Ohio State is coming off of their best win of the season and is looking for revenge against the Ducks, however, the Ducks have other plans of shutting down the Buckeyes offense and continuing to shred their secondary. This is a game that everyone will be tuned into, I have the Buckeyes coming out on top 34-28.
Notre Dame vs Georgia
Georgia would be an easy pick here if it weren’t for their star QB Carson Beck being ruled out for the rest of the year. Notre Dame is coming into the Sugar Bowl as arguably the hottest team in college football, I believe this streak will continue. I have Notre Dame winning 21-20, and I am expecting Riley Leonard to give Georgia some struggles as all year, they have had a hard time with rushing QBs, he will open up the run game for Jeremiyah Love.
