Hello everybody, and welcome back to another week of the WWE’s Men’s Power Rankings. With rumors of a shoulder injury to Seth Rollins sidelineing the superstar for the next month, these rankings are ready to be changed. However, after what we saw last week on Monday Night RAW, we don’t know if this is part of the angle or not. That being said, let’s run through the wrestlers and get you caught up in some of the storylines. Also, remember to check out our “Through the Turnbuckles” podcast, as we cover topics in the world of wrestling. The show will be returning this week, so keep an eye out for that show. Have a great day, everyone, and may the slams be with you.
Cody Rhodes: Cody Rhodes lost to Seth Rollins at Crown Jewel, thus making Rollins the Crown Jewel champion. Right now, Jacob Fatu and Drew McIntyre are locking horns to see who the number one contender is. Unfortunately, Fatu was mysteriously laid out on the back, in which Rhodes confronted and fought McIntyre in a match that was waived off due to disqualification.
Seth “Freakin” Rollins: Seth Rollins has run his mouth for too long and last week in RAW, Paul Heyman and the Vision turned against him. Even though Rollins is still the champion, he may need some time off due to a shoulder injury. This was the perfect send off for now but what about the belt. On a side note, Rollins did defeat Cody Rhodes at Crown Jewel to become the Crown Jewel Champion.
John Cena: John Cena had an amazing match against A.J. Styles this past weekend at Crown Jewel. What many thought would be just another Cena match was wrong, as both he and Styles delivered a four-plus-star match, in my opinion. For now, Cena’s last match has been announced but the opponent has not yet been named.
C.M. Punk: C.M. Punk interrupted L.A. Knight during another interview last week which ended up leading to a triple-threat match with Jey Uso as well. Punk ended up winning the match which only fueled all three of these superstars even more. These three have been gold and with Rollin’s status in limbo, I could see Punk winning the belt at some point.
Roman Reigns: Roman Reigns lost to Bronson Reed at Crown Jewel as a follow-up match to their Clash in Paris match. Of course, there was interference in this match that led to Jey Uso spearing Reigns through a table. With this feud heating up, you can only assume it’s going to get better this week.
“Main Event” Jey Uso: Jey Uso is being groomed by Reigns to be the next Tribal Chief right now. This had led to some bad decisions on Jey’s end that now has made Jimmy Uso very worried. Regardless, I see Punk or Jey taking over for Rollins, if he had to drop the belt. YEET!
Bron Breakker: Bron Breakker and Bronson Reed keep causing problems, and it started on Monday Night RAW by attacking Seth Rollins. After that, Reed had a match against Jimmy Uso in which both Jey Uso and Bron Breakker showed up too which led to chaos as always.
L.A. Knight: L.A. Knight’s current storyline is tied in with Punk and Jey at the moment. With all three likely candidates to fight for the title at Survivor Series or another event, you can only expect this menage a trios to hear up even more. Unfortunately for Knight, I feel he’s going to get the short end of the stick. YEAH!
Ilja Dragunov: Sami Zayn defended his U.S. Championship against another returning superstar in Ilja Dragunov. Even though Zane did his best, he lost the U.S. Championship to Dragunov in which both wrestlers put on a clinic. Therefore, Dragunov takes over his spot on this list at nine.
Dominik Mysterio: Let’s all give a warm welcome to Dominik Mysterio, who should have been on this list a long time ago. From the crowd finally falling in love with Dirty Dom, to him being the Intercontinental Champion, everything has gone right for Mysterio. Even his recent title defense against Penta, in which Dominik used a hammer to gain an edge over Penta, thus retaining his championship.
