Jackson Merrill MORE than 6 Fantasy Points
If not for Paul Skenes, Merrill would be the front-runner for NL MVP. He is having an amazing season, batting .291 with 67 runs, 22 doubles, six triples, 20 HR, 76 RBI and 16 SB. Over the past month, he has really hit his stride, though. Since the end of July, Merrill is batting .319 with 19 runs, seven HR, 23 RBI, and five SB. He has at least one hit in eight of his past ten games, and he should continue his success tonight against the Rays RHP Taj Bradley. Merrill has struggled vs lefties this season, but against RHP, he is batting .316 with a .351 OBP and has 40 of his 48 XBH this season against righties.
Jackson Chourio MORE than 8 Fantasy Points
Chourio has at least one hit in seven of his past eight games and has scored a run in six of those seven games. He had five extra-base hits during that time, nine RBIs, two walks, and a SB. Over the past month, he has been great, too. Since July 31st, Chourio is batting .306 with four HR, 17 runs, 18 RBI, and seven SB. Tonight, he is on the road in Cincinnati, which is one of the best hitters parks in all of MLB. Also, Chourio has a better batting average and OBP this season on the road than he does at home. He also has more than double the amount of SB on the road, even though he has played in exactly 60 home and road games.
Vladimir Guerrero Jr. MORE than 7 Fantasy Points
Vlad has been tearing the cover off the baseball lately. Over the past week, he is batting .500 with five runs, a HR, and 5 RBI. Over the past 30 days, he is batting .374 with six HRm 18 runs, and 17 RBI. He has proven to be matchup-proof right now; he has multiple hits in five of his past six games, and he eclipsed 7 fantasy points in all five of those games. Vlad is behind only Judge, Witt Jr., and Soto this season in the American League when it comes to OPS, so you know he is getting on base and slugging at an elite level.
Reynaldo Lopez MORE than 5 Strikeouts
He has been incredible this season for the Braves. In his 21 starts this season, he has a 2.02 ERA and 1.18 WHIP to go with 119 Ks in 115.2 innings. He missed nearly three weeks with an injury, but the time off seems to have rejuvenated him because in his first two starts since returning from the IL, Lopez has 17 strikeouts in 11 innings. He struck out ten Phillies on August 20th and seven Nationals on August 25th. Tonight, he faces the Phillies again, and although they may score more runs off him, we have seen firsthand now that he can rack up strikeouts against them.
