Hello everybody, and welcome back to another week of the WWE’s Men’s Power Rankings. With the WWE ready to give us another great year of wrestling, we can now start looking forward to the Royal Rumble this month. That being said, let’s run through the list and get you caught up in some of the storylines. Also, remember to check out our “Through the Turnbuckles” podcast, as we cover topics in the world of wrestling. The show will be returning this week, so keep an eye out for that show. Have a great day, everyone, and may the slams be with you.
10. Logan Paul:
“The Maverick” Logan Paul makes his return to the list after being removed earlier in the year due to an injury. I know a lot of people will disagree with him being on the list; however, Paul is an amazing in-ring performer. From his high spots to his work on the mic, Paul shows why he’s not only a superstar but also a great wrestler.
9. Gunther:
Gunther may not be liked by many, but he sure didn’t mind coming out and rubbing his win over John Cena in everyone’s face. That continued this week in Gunther’s match against R-Truth, who clearly was in over his head against the Ring General.
8. Roman Reigns:
Roman Reigns has taken his normal leave, and at this time of the year, it shouldn’t surprise anyone. With the Royal Rumble in a few weeks, you can expect that Reigns will show up sooner rather than later. Later, not seeing him until the countdown strikes zero, and we hear his music hit as he walks to the ring for the Royal Rumble.
7. L.A. Knight:
L.A. Knight hasn’t been on TV much due to being part of storylines that don’t really involve him. With how much Knight loses, you can tell he’s a company man, but at some point, the Megastar needs to step it up. Now that it’s a new year, I’m sure the WWE has plans for him. YEAH!
6. Carmelo Hayes:
After defeating Ilia Dragunov for the U.S. Championship, Carmelo Hayes finally has that limelight shining back on him. Being one of the fastest rising stars in the WWE, Hayes has an amazing arsenal of moves to captivate us on his new journey. That was evident last week after he defeated Johnny Gargano in a great match on Friday Night SmackDown.
5. Dominik Mysterio:
Dominik Mysterio has continued his reign of terror with Judgment Day again, but for me, this still feels like it could be short-lived. Even with Liv Morgan coming back to inject some gusto into the group, I still feel that this is the final swan song and could erupt in everyone’s face if it leads to Mysterio losing his title.
4. Bron Breakker:
Bron Breakker and the Vision had been a thorn in Punk’s side, and with Theory now part of the band, it can only get worse. However, there is chatter that Punk could be losing the title tonight, and with the ring side surrounded by the Vision, this could become a reality tonight.
3. “Main Event” Jey Uso:
Jey Uso teamed up with his brother Jimmy Uso to take on the RAW tag team champions, Dragon Lee and A.J. Styles. As expected, the four wrestlers had an amazing match that led to the Usos winning the tag team championships once again. Now that the first step in the rebirth of the Bloodline has started, it’s time for the OTC to show up and remind everyone who he is. YEET!
2. C.M. Punk:
C.M. Punk couldn’t stand the Vision running their mouths again, and after being beaten down two weeks ago, C.M. Punk had some stuff to say before his Championship match tonight on RAW. He went face-to-face with Bron Breakker, and he said if he’s attacked again, there is no title match. The Vision left him alone this time, but tonight could be another story.
1. Cody Rhodes:
Cody Rhodes finally found out what his stipulations were for his title match against Drew McIntyre. That is when McIntyre said he would like a three-stage match against Rhodes, which includes a standard match, then a falls count anywhere match, and finally a cage match. After that, he showed Rhodes a picture of Cody and his dad, Dusty Rhodes, that he stomped on right afterwards. After that, McIntyre decided to grab a trash can and set the photo on fire, which will lead to an American Nightmare in the form of Rhodes, once the bell sounds to start their match.
