The Top 20 Greatest Sports Dynasties All-Time

We often talk about great teams, but are those teams great for more than one season? When teams ARE great for a long period of time, they are often referred to as dynasties. Becoming a dynasty is one of the hardest things to do in sports, as things change so rapidly that sustaining greatness is like hitting a moving target. Here are the 20 best sports dynasties. Agree? 1990’s: Atlanta Braves and New York Yankees

Three Super Bowls in five years have made the Chiefs the NFL’s latest dynasty.

19. Manchester United (1992-2013)

18. Oakland Athletics (1972-1974)

People forget how good the A’s were. They won three straight World Series over this time.

16. Golden State Warriors (2015-2022)

In this time the Spurs won five NBA Championships and had 15 straight playoff appearances.

12. Los Angeles Lakers (1980-1991)

Showtime brought five NBA Championships to the Great Western Forum.

11. New York Islanders (1980-1983)

The Islanders won four straight Stanley Cup trophies and had 19 consecutive playoff series wins.

10. Edmonton Oilers (1984-1990)

7. UCLA Bruins Men’s Basketball (1964-1975)

The Wizard of Westwood, John Wooden, led the Bruins to 10 NCAA Titles in 12 years, including seven straight from 1967-1973.

6. Montreal Canadiens (1975-1979)

Ken Dryden led the Canadiens to four straight Stanley Cup trophies and the team had a 60-win season in 1976-1977.

3. Montreal Canadiens (1955-1960)

Montreal dominated hockey by winning five straight Stanley Cups.

2. New York Yankees (1947-1962)
