The 2025 season begins this week, so I decided it was time to make final predictions for the regular season. Here are my picks for MVP, Cy Young, and Rookie Of The Year In Both the AL and NL:

AL CY: Tarik Skubal, Tigers

Tarik Skubal #29 of the Detroit Tigers
DETROIT, MI – AUGUST 13: Tarik Skubal #29 of the Detroit Tigers pitches against the Seattle Mariners during the first inning at Comerica Park on August 13, 2024 in Detroit, Michigan. (Photo by Duane Burleson/Getty Images)

He is the clear favorite, and he should be… the only pitcher in the AL who I think can contend with Skubal for this award is Garrett Crochet.. the difference is that Skubal is more reliable in terms of innings, and he has a much better home ballpark and plays a weaker schedule than Crochet does.

NL CY: Zack Wheeler, Phillies

PHILADELPHIA, PENNSYLVANIA – JULY 9: Zack Wheeler #45 of the Philadelphia Phillies throws a pitch in the top of the first inning against the Los Angeles Dodgers at Citizens Bank Park on July 9, 2024 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. (Photo by Mitchell Leff/Getty Images)

He is consistently one of the best pitchers in the NL, and this season, I believe he will be the best.. guys like Sale, the Dodgers pitchers, or even Corbin Burnes are all great; I don’t trust any of them as much as I trust Wheeler. Skenes is the guy who poses the biggest threat, but Skenes also throws 100 MPH, and we have seen what that can do to guys arms. Injury risks are there.

AL MVP: Bobby Witt Jr., Royals

He had an MVP caliber season last year and we all expect him to be as good or even better this year.. I really don’t see anyone beating him out for this award… Aaron Judge would need another .300, 50+ HR, and 120 RBI-type season… and although he is capable of it, Witt Jr should be the favorite for this award…

NL MVP: Francisco Lindor, Mets

The Mets’ pitching staff, on paper, isn’t great, so although they may not be as good as the Dodgers, braves, or Phillies, I do think Lindor is going to have an MVP season.. he did last season, but of course, Shohei Ohtani was just better.. Adding Juan Soto to bat behind Lindor is going to help Lindor become even better, and we could see a career year from him.

ALROTY: Jackson Jobe, Tigers

When a rookie pitcher has a good season, it’s almost a lock that they will win this award… last season is a perfect example, with Luis Gil and Paul Skenes winning the awards in each league… Jobe has nasty stuff. He could make 25+ starts, and I don’t think he has the same risk as a guy like Jasson Dominguez or someone like Coby Mayo and Roman Anthony who aren’t beginning the season on the big league roster.

NLROTY: Dylan Crews, Nationals

Even before the news about Sasaki having elbow issues, apparently caused by shoulder soreness, Crews was my guy… he has a secure role as an everyday player, and he is going to contribute in all five categories… the Nationals are a few years away from being true contenders, but they do have a nice young core on offense..
