Regular season win-loss records don’t always tell the story. Other times, it tells you exactly what you need to know about how good a team is. We compiled our top 10 list based on all of these factors. Let us know who your top 10 are! Here are the top 10 teams in the NFL RIGHT NOW!
1. Kansas City Chiefs:
They are the number-one seed in the AFC and had the best record in the league this season. People say they were lucky and that they aren’t the best, but they just find ways to win, and that’s what good teams do.
2. Detroit Lions:
They are the number one seed in the NFC. They earned it with a fantastic regular season and capped that off with a huge statement win over the Vikings on SNF. Now, they can get even healthier. This team is going to be a tough out with all their games until the Super Bowl being played at home.
3. Buffalo Bills:
Number 2 seed in the AFC. They are very good, and they should get by the Broncos pretty handily, but then they will likely have to face the Ravens, and if they do beat them, they will likely have to go on the road to KC. They are one of the best teams in the league, hence their ranking here, but that road to the Super Bowl is going to be tough!
4. Baltimore Ravens:
They are the number 3 seed in the AFC and playing their best football at the right time. Their offense has been special all season long, but their defense really struggled for most of the season. Over the final month of the season, though, they seemed to sort things out and began to play at an elite level. This is a team that could go to the Super Bowl.
5. Philadelphia Eagles:
Sometimes, it feels like the Eagles are forgotten about. They don’t have the best record in the league or in their conference; Jalen Hurts was concussed at the end of the season and didn’t play the final 2 weeks. Barkley didn’t play in week 18 so he didn’t break the rushing record, so things have been relatively quiet surrounding the Eagles. Yet, here they are, the two seed in the NFC and the most likely team to face the Lions in the NFC Championship game.
6. Minnesota Vikings:
As good as their season was, and it was special, their SNF loss to the Lions in week 18 is what might define them. If they can’t pick up the pieces and win a playoff game, it will all be for not. They fall down to the 5th seed in the conference, have to go on the road and take on a Rams team that is rested and is led by a Super Bowl winning Head Coach and QB.
7. Washington Commanders:
They hit a wall in the middle of the season, but they finished the season strong, and they have enough on offense with Jayden Daniels that they can beat anyone. Although the defense has been hit or miss and will be in tough against the Bucs this week, as mentioned, the offense can carry them.
8. Los Angeles Chargers:
Their week 18 win, coupled with the Steelers loss, has helped them secure the 5th seed in the AFC and a trip to Houston in the Wild Card round. As far as playoff matchups go, this is the best one that the Chargers could have asked for. The Texans limped into the playoffs and have been playing poorly for almost 2 months.
9. Los Angeles Rams:
They opted to rest their star players rather than play for the number 3 seed. It didn’t work out in terms of securing that third seed, but perhaps it will pay dividends when they host the Vikings who are coming off a big loss in Detroit.
10. Tampa Bay Bucs:
They booked their playoff ticket on the final day of the season, and thanks to a loss by the Rams, they end up as the number 3 seed in the NFC. They have an elite offense right now, and their running game has been a strong point for them. That could be the key to their success in the playoffs if they have any.
