NFL Fantasy Football Best Waiver Wire Adds: Week 16

Every week, I will share my favorite waiver wire or free agent pickups in fantasy football. Some weeks are more important than others because of bye weeks, but adding the right player any week can make all the difference. Here is what I have for week 16!

QB Cooper Rush, Cowboys

The Cowboys offense is playing much better lately, and they have a good matchup against a Bucs team that struggles against opposing QBs. The Bucs play in high-scoring games, and Rush should be able to put up solid numbers, even in what should be a loss.

QB Aaron Rodgers, Jets

Rodgers has arguably had his two best games as a Jet in the past 2 weeks, and I like him again this week to keep it rolling. He and Davante Adams have found a groove again, and they face a Rams defense that ranks 20th against the pass this season.

RB Jerome Ford, Browns

Nick Chubb is injured, and Ford looked explosive when he came in to take over for him. He will get a large volume of touches. He is pretty fresh after playing 2nd fiddle to Chubb, and that is exactly what you want from an RB this late in the season.

RB Kendre Miller, Saints

Alvin Kamara had to leave last weeks game, Miller filled in for him and looked pretty good. Miller now has an opportunity to finish out the season strong and is a must-add for any Kamara owner and even for those who don’t have Kamara.

RB Tyjae Spears, Titans

NASHVILLE, TENNESSEE – DECEMBER 15: Tyjae Spears #2 of the Tennessee Titans runs the ball in the fourth quarter of a game against the Cincinnati Bengals at Nissan Stadium on December 15, 2024 in Nashville, Tennessee. (Photo by Andy Lyons/Getty Images)

He scored two TDs last week and looked good in the passing game too. Pollard will still see plenty of work, but in deeper PPR leagues, Spears warrants a pickup this week.

WR Keon Coleman

SEATTLE, WASHINGTON – OCTOBER 27: Keon Coleman #0 of the Buffalo Bills catches a pass during the second quarter against the Seattle Seahawks at Lumen Field on October 27, 2024 in Seattle, Washington. (Photo by Steph Chambers/Getty Images)

He is back, and with the way Josh Allen is playing right now, you want to have as many Bills pass-catchers as possible. Amari Cooper continues to lack production, and Coleman has a great opportunity to be the number 2 WR in the offense behind Shakir.

WR Jalen McMillan, Bucs

TAMPA, FLORIDA – OCTOBER 21: Rachaad White #1 of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers celebrates his touchdown catch with Jalen McMillan #15 during the fourth quarter against the Baltimore Ravens at Raymond James Stadium on October 21, 2024 in Tampa, Florida. (Photo by Julio Aguilar/Getty Images)

He scored another TD this past week and is really settling in well as the Bucs number two WR. He has 3 TDs in the past 2 games, and Baker Mayfield continues to play at a high level. McMillan has a solid matchup this weekend against the Cowboys.

TE Brenton Strange, Jaguars

JACKSONVILLE, FLORIDA – OCTOBER 06: Brenton Strange #85 of the Jacksonville Jaguars makes a catch for touchdown during an NFL football game against the Indianapolis Colts at EverBank Stadium on October 6, 2024 in Jacksonville, Florida. (Photo by Perry Knotts/Getty Images)

He filled in nicely for Evan Engram this past week and will be the starting TE for the remainder of the season. Pick him up in all PPR formats.

DST: Bills

They are surprisingly available in leagues because they had to go on the road to the Rams and Lions the past 2 weeks. Now they get the Patriots and Jets the next 2 weeks in Buffalo.
