Every week, I try to find players who could be sitting on the waiver wire and are worth picking up for this week based on their matchups. Here’s what I have for this week!
QB Aiden O’Connell, Raiders
He looked good in week 13 against a good Chiefs defense on the road in a cold weather game in KC. He takes his team to Tampa this week, so the weather will be warm, and the defense isn’t nearly as good. The Bucs can score a lot of points, though, so O’Connell could even get garbage time opportunities.
QB Will Levis, Titans
Levis has looked a lot better over the past few weeks. He is connecting well with both Calvin Ridley and Nick Westbrook-Ikhine and has an excellent matchup this weekend against the Jags, who rank dead last against QBs in fantasy football.
RB Blake Corum, Rams
He was used more last week than ever before, and he could be used again this weekend against a Bills defense that is great against the pass but has shown weakness against the run. The Bills rank 30th against RBs in fantasy football.
WR Ray-Ray McCloud, Falcons
The Falcons need a big win this weekend, and they face a Vikings defense that ranks last in fantasy football against the WR position. McCloud has big play ability, and with so many teams on byes this week, you might need to stream.
WR Nick Westbrook-Ikhine, Titans
He keeps finding the endzone, and as QB Will Levis continues to improve, so will his pass catchers. Calvin Ridley is still the top dog in Tennessee, but there is no questioning who the number two pass catcher is anymore. He faces the Jags this week who rank 30th against WRs in fantasy football.
TE Grant Calcaterra, Eagles
He should be the starter for at least one week now that Goedert is hurt. He faces the Panthers this week who rank last in fantasy football against the TE position.
Defense: Saints
They get to face the Giants, who are the worst team in football. The Giants offensive line stinks, their QB stinks, their coaching stinks, and they should be picked on the rest of the season when it comes to team defenses in fantasy football.
