This Weeks Record: 6-5

Last Weeks Record: 11-7-1

Past Two Weeks Record: 23-13-2

Carlos Correa MORE than 6.5 Fantasy Points

I played Correa last night at more than 7 fantasy points, and I am definitely going back tonight. He has another great matchup, this time against Tigers starter Kenta Maeda, who has a 5.76 ERA and 1.42 WHIP in 14 starts this season. Correa is riding a six-game hitting streak in which he has multiple hits twice, two doubles, and two HR. While he is hot at the dish, I want to take advantage, and the fact that he has such a great matchup gives me confidence in this pick.

Max Scherzer MORE than 4.5 Strikeouts

Scherzer has looked very sharp in his first couple of starts of the season. He has four strikeouts in both outings and has posted a very good 1.76 ERA and 0.68 WHIP. Those starts came against two very good teams in the Orioles and the Royals, which is even more encouraging. Now that he has worked up his arm strength more, he may finally go six or more innings tonight which he has failed to do in his first two games. In a solid matchup and a chance to go deeper into the game, I like Max to get five or more strikeouts tonight.

Masyn Winn MORE than 5.5 Fantasy Points

Winn has had an excellent rookie season, batting .293 with 17 doubles, three triples, four HRs, and eight SBs. He has been hot lately as well, with three straight multi-hit games. He has an excellent matchup tonight against Pirates LHP Martin Perez, who has a 5.28 ERA and 1.61 WHIP this season.

Nick Pivetta MORE than 5.5 Strikeouts

Pivetta hasn’t been as sharp lately, but he has good stuff and can rack up strikeouts. His command lets him down at times; however, I don’t see it being an issue today against the Marlins. The Marlins rank 29th in runs per game, 29th in SLG, and 30th in OBP. Pivetta could cruise in this outing.
