Well, here we are, the final week of the NFL regular season and possibly the trickiest week in all of fantasy football. If you’re still competing this week, congratulations on making it this far … or good luck avoiding finishing in last place. Let’s see who can provide some late magic this season.
Quarterback Streaming Options Week 18
Blaine Gabbert, Kansas City Chiefs
It’s time to get weird. With the Chiefs locking in their seeding for the postseason, starting quarterback Patrick Mahomes will get a rest and backup Blaine Gabbert will take over the offense against the hapless Los Angeles Chargers. While the Kansas City offense won’t be nearly as explosive as usual, the rest of the offensive weapons need a boost of confidence heading into the playoffs, and an aggressive approach could do the trick.
Gardner Minshew, Indianapolis Colts
Unlike Blaine Gabbert and the Kansas Chiefs, quarterback Gardner Minshew and the Indianapolis Colts have everything to play for in Week 18 in a high-stakes matchup with the Houston Texans. With a potential AFC South championship on the line, Minshew will likely have to keep pushing the ball downfield to keep pace with the Texans’ offense.
Running Back Streaming Options Week 18
Elijah Mitchell, San Francisco 49ers
With the top seed in the NFC clinched and starter Christian McCaffrey ruled out for Week 18, running back Elijah Mitchell should see plenty of action in the run-heavy San Francisco offense for the season finale.
Melvin Gordon III, Baltimore Ravens
After running back Keaton Mitchell went down with a season-ending injury, Melvin Gordon III made his season debut in the Ravens’ Week 17 victory over Miami. Similar to San Francisco, the Ravens have the top seed in the AFC locked in, so Gordon should see decent usage with the usual starters rested.
Wide Receiver Streaming Options Week 18
Demarcus Robinson, Los Angeles Rams
After leading the Rams in targets in Week 17, wide receiver Demarcus Robinson should have a prominent role this week with fellow wideouts Cooper Kupp and Puka Nacua likely getting some rest before the playoffs.
Rashid Shaheed, New Orleans Saints
Speedy wide receiver Rashid Shaheed has had an up-and-down season for New Orleans, but his big play ability should come into play as the Saints aim to clinch a playoff spot against division-rival Atlanta Falcons.
Tight End Streaming Options Week 18
Johnny Mundt, Minnesota Vikings
Not officially eliminated from playoff contention, the Vikings need a win in Detroit to stay alive. Ravaged by injuries, the Vikings utilized tight end Johnny Mundt in place of the reliable T.J. Hockenson in Week 17. With Nick Mullens starting at quarterback this week, Minnesota will certainly try to air the ball out.
Kicker Streaming Options Week 18
Ka’imi Fairbairn, Houston Texans
With a division title and playoff berth on the line, the Houston Texans will lean on ultra-reliable kicker Ka’imi Fairbairn on a day where points will be at a premium.
Defense Streaming Options Week 18
New England Patriots
In what could be the final game in New England for legendary head coach Bill Belichick, what better way for the defensive mastermind to go out than with a suffocating performance against the abysmal New York Jets and backup quarterback Trevor Siemian?
