Top MLB Prop Picks 5/2
Carlos Rodon LESS Than 6 Strikeouts
Rodon has made six starts this season, and although his ratios have been good, his strikeout totals haven’t been eye-popping. He has recorded more than six strikeouts only one time this season, and today doesn’t seem like the ideal matchup for him to do it for the second time. He faces the Orioles, who lead MLB in runs per game. They’re a very tough lineup and definitely present Rodon with his toughest matchup of the season so far.
Edward Cabrera LESS Than 7 Strikeouts
Cabrera has good stuff and a good matchup today vs. the Rockies, but he has been trending in the wrong direction. He has made three starts this season and has allowed more earned runs in each start, while his strikeouts have gotten lower with each outing. He has also pitched less innings from start to start and although I think he can bounce back in this matchup, seven strikeouts seems like a big number for a guy who has been struggling.
Steven Kwan MORE Than 0.5 Runs
Kwan continues to be amazing this season. He had another three hits last night to raise his season average to .360 and today he faces the Astros’ worst SP: Spencer Arrighetti. Arrighetti has made three starts this season and has an ERA of 10.97 and a WHIP of 2.34. Kwan has scored 27 runs this season in 29 games so the odds look pretty good for him to score one in this matchup.
Kyle Harrison LESS Than 5.5 Strikeouts
In his six starts this season, Harrison has two games in which he has recorded more than 5.5 strikeouts. Both games came at home in San Francisco and today he will be on the road in Boston. In his road starts, he is averaging just four strikeouts per game, and pitching in Fenway is never an easy task for anyone, so I am deciding to bet against Harrison today.
