We are officially in the thick of Transfer Portal madness, with over 1,600 Division I players entering their names. In just the past few days, some of the top players in the country have announced their new destinations. Our updated Transfer Portal Big Board now features the Top 100 players in the country. Let’s dive into the latest action.

LSU fans and Coach Matt McMahon received massive news this week when our 4th-ranked player, Dedan Thomas, committed to the Tigers. The 6’1″ point guard, formerly of UNLV, has been one of the Mountain West’s top players over the past two seasons and will bring much-needed stability to an LSU backcourt that has struggled with consistency during McMahon’s tenure. Thomas is a dynamic three-level scorer and one of the best decision-makers in college basketball, boasting an impressive 2.5-to-1 assist-to-turnover ratio. With the Tigers posting just a 45-53 record and only 14 total SEC wins under McMahon, the pressure is mounting heading into the 2025-26 season.

Following Xavier’s exit from the NCAA Tournament, Head Coach Sean Miller made the move to Austin, triggering a wave of talent entering the portal from the Musketeers’ program. Two of the most coveted names, Dailyn Swain and Ryan Conwell—both Top 10-ranked transfers—wasted no time finding new homes. Swain opted to follow Miller to Texas, where his length, athleticism, and upside make him the new face of a Longhorns program searching for a fresh identity. With NBA potential and elite two-way ability, Swain should thrive in the SEC. Meanwhile, Conwell chose to join a surging Louisville squad fresh off a remarkable 19-win improvement. A lethal perimeter shooter, Conwell fits seamlessly into Coach Pat Kelsey’s fast-paced, three-point-heavy system.

The Rick Pitino resurgence at St. John’s continues, as the Red Storm secured a game-changing commitment from former Providence star Bryce Hopkins. The 6’7” wing/forward has spent much of the last two seasons sidelined by injuries, but reports indicate he is now fully healthy. If Hopkins returns to his peak form, he has All-American potential. His blend of size, strength, and aggressiveness allows him to attack the rim and dominate the glass. Pairing Hopkins with star center Zuby Ejiofor and sharpshooting transfer Joson Sanon raises expectations to an all-time high in Queens.

Like St. John’s, Dusty May and Michigan are reloading through the portal, landing former Illinois big man Morez Johnson. A physically imposing athlete with an elite motor, Johnson is a relentless rebounder and an efficient finisher, converting nearly 70% of his shots around the rim. His presence in the paint, alongside newly acquired point guard Elliot Cadeau, should make for a formidable inside-out duo in May’s center-focused offensive system.

Fresh off an Elite Eight run, Alabama wasted little time in the portal, securing a commitment from Patriot League Player of the Year Noah Williamson. This addition stands out because Williamson brings a different skill set than previous Crimson Tide centers. While he can stretch the floor, he lacks the elite athleticism of predecessors like Grant Nelson, Clifford Omoruyi, Charles Bediako, and Mo Wague. How Nate Oats integrates Williamson into Alabama’s high-paced, perimeter-oriented attack will be fascinating to watch.

With commitments rolling in daily, the Transfer Portal continues to reshape the college basketball landscape. Stay tuned for more updates as the madness unfolds.
