The Final Four is set, but the quest for next year has already begun. The College Basketball Transfer Portal opened on March 24t,h and it already features more than 1,200+ D1 names. You don’t have to look further than this year’s Final Four crop to see the impact of player mobility. Sion James (Duke), Alijah Martin (Florida), Miles Kelly (Auburn), and Milos Uzan (Houston) will all be called during starting lineups who were all featured on our Top 500 Transfer Portal Big Board last offseason. Our initial Big Board starts with 50 names that will have a big impact on the 2025-2026 season.

Some of the big names have already started to come off the board like our #1 overall player Donovan Dent. Dent surprised some by making the early call to head back home to play for UCLA. Since the departure of Tyger Campbell, the Bruins have struggled to fill the point guard position with an impact player. Dent will be a preseason All-American, and it will be up to Coach Cronin and his staff to put outside shooting around him to maximize the pressure he will apply to opposing defenses.

St. John’s has been very active in the early window after an early second-round exit put a damper on a tremendous year two under Coach Rick Pitino. A huge reason for the quick turnaround of the program is the success Pitino has had in the portal. With the shocking news that the Red Storm are losing Big East Player of the Year RJ Luis to either the NBA/Transfer Portal, the Johnnie’s wasted little time landing one of the best pure scorers returning to the sport in former Arizona State sharpshooter Joson Sanon.

The SEC was an absolute beast this year and is guaranteed to have one of their members play for a National Championship next week. No member of the league saw a bigger shift in momentum this past year than South Carolina. The Gamecocks finished at the bottom of the SEC after being one of the top stories in the sport the previous year. Coach Lamont Paris did make a splash this weekend by picking up one of the top scorers from the mid-major ranks in North Dakota wing Treysen Eaglestaff. The addition of Eaglestaff gives South Carolina a weapon they were desperately missing.
