With another week of the NFL season passed, let’s look at which players affected their stock the most with their performances.
Stock Up: RB D’Onta Foreman, Chicago Bears
Foreman made the most of his opportunity on Sunday against the Raiders, rushing for 89 yards and two touchdowns on 16 carries. Foreman’s opportunity to shine came since the Bears’ top two running backs were out on Sunday. However, after this performance, expect him to see a large role on offense even when the Bears’ backfield is completely healthy.
Stock Up: QB Gardner Minshew, Indianapolis Colts
Minshew completed 15 of his 23 pass attempts for 305 yards, two touchdowns and an interception on Sunday against the Browns. He added two rushing touchdowns as well. Despite the Colts’ focus on the ground game, Minshew was still able to have success through the air against a tough Browns defense. With rookie Anthony Richardson now officially set to miss the remainder of the season after undergoing shoulder surgery, Minshew becomes an intriguing option at QB in deeper leagues.
Stock Up: QB Lamar Jackson. Baltimore Ravens
Jackson had his best game of the season on Sunday against the Lions, completing 21 of 27 passes for 357 yards and three touchdowns while rushing nine times for 36 yards and another touchdown. The only negative from this performance was a lost fumble. Jackson has a favorable matchup this week against the Cardinals and is a must-start in all formats.
Stock Up: RB Alvin Kamara, New Orleans Saints
Kamara had a productive game against the Jaguars on Sunday, carrying the ball 17 times for 62 yards while adding an additional 12 catches for 91 yards. While he has only scored one touchdown through four games, Kamara has received elite volume and shows no signs of slowing down. Kamara is a high-end RB1 this week against the Colts.
Stock Up: WR Josh Downs, Indianapolis Colts
Downs caught five of his six targets for 125 yards and a touchdown on Sunday against the Browns. A 59-yard touchdown catch highlighted his day, and he has now caught touchdowns in back-to-back games. Most notably, he led the team in targets, receptions, and yards last week. Downs has been productive as a rookie and seems to have earned a larger role in the Colts’ passing attack.
Stock Down: QB Jared Goff, Detroit Lions
Goff struggled against the Ravens on Sunday, completing just 33 of his 53 passes for 284 yards with zero touchdowns and an interception, as well as losing two fumbles. This was the first game of the season where Goff failed to throw at least one touchdown pass. While the Lions’ offense had a tough matchup against the Ravens last week, they appear to be in position for a bounce-back performance as they are set to face the Raiders this week on Monday Night Football.
Stock Down: RB Bijan Robinson, Atlanta Falcons
Surprisingly, Robbinson received only one carry in Sunday’s game against the Buccaneers. At halftime, it was reported that Robinson was dealing with an illness. While this was frustrating for fantasy managers, Robinson has a favorable matchup against the Titans this week. However, the Falcons are extremely unpredictable with the usage of their players, so start Robinson with caution this week.
Stock Down: QB Deshaun Watson, Cleveland Browns
Watson struggled against the Colts on Sunday before leaving with an injury. He had only completed one pass for five yards and threw an interception before he left the game. He had missed the previous two games with an injury, and him being unable to finish this one is concerning. Even when he is healthy, Watson has not looked good this season. It may be time to try to find an upgrade at the position if you have Watson on your roster.
Stock Down: WR Calvin Ridley, Jacksonville Jaguars
Ridley was very quiet against the Saints on Thursday, catching just one pass for four yards and rushing once for no gain. Ridley started the season strong but has been very inconsistent in the weeks that have followed. He has been very boom or bust this season, which makes him a frustrating player to manage. Ridley will look to bounce back this week against the Steelers.
Stock Down: WR Gabe Davis, Buffalo Bills
Davis caught one pass for six yards on Sunday against the Patriots. After a strong start to the season, Davis has cooled off in recent weeks. The good news for fantasy managers is that the Bills will face the Buccaneers tonight on Thursday Night Football, which means that there is potential for a bounce-back performance from Davis.
