MLB has completed its first five weeks, with big storylines ready to take focus. We are approaching the time of the year when numerous players start to find their groove and top prospects start receiving their calls to the Major Leagues. Below is a breakdown of Week 6’s top 10 shortstops.
1. Elly De La Cruz, Cincinnati Reds

It was a matter of time before De La Cruz caught fire, and the shortstop is locked in, slashing .252/.325/.427 with five home runs, 22 RBI, and 10 stolen bases.
2. Trevor Story, Boston Red Sox

Trevor Story cooled off last week but features a .291/.324/.456 slash line with five home runs, 15 RBI, and six stolen bases.
3. Francisco Lindor, New York Mets

Last week’s monster production raised Lindor’s season totals to five home runs and 14 RBI.

The Royals’ leader is starting to heat up, slashing .320/.390/.476 with two home runs, 10 RBI, and eight stolen bases.
5. Geraldo Perdomo, Arizona Diamondbacks

Perdomo’s early-season surge has taken a step back, but the Arizona shortstop is second among MLB shortstops with 19 RBI to go along with three home runs and four stolen bases.
6. Anthony Volpe, New York Yankees

The last two weeks have been a struggle for the young shortstop who’s reached four home runs and 15 RBI.
7. Mookie Betts, Los Angeles Dodgers

Mookie Betts is working hard to lock in, but has four home runs and 11 RBI in the season.
8. CJ Abrams, Washington Nationals

Abrams returned from a short IL stint, and his season totals reflect four home runs, nine RBI, and five stolen bases.
9. Jacob Wilson, Athletics

The rookie has taken MLB by storm, slashing .347/.354/.500 with three home runs, 14 RBI, and the league’s fourth-most hits (34).
10. Dansby Swanson, Chicago Cubs
