With a less-than-exciting Week 9 slate and quarterbacks out injured left and right, we don’t have options jumping off the board at us, but there is one that stands out. The guy jumping off the board at me is Derek Carr this week against the Chicago Bears.
The Bears were thought to potentially be one of the best teams in the NFC North coming into this season, but that has proved not to be the case. However, their rush defense has been decent, allowing the third-fewest yards for a league-low of 3.3 yards per carry. This means the Saints are going to have to throw in this game. Luckily, the Bears’ defense has allowed the fourth-most completions, the third-most passing yards, and the fifth-most passing touchdowns to opposing quarterbacks. The Bears are also allowing the third-most fantasy points to quarterbacks at 23.1 points per game.
Carr is at home this week and has scored at least 15 fantasy points in each of his last four games. He has also thrown for at least 300 yards in the last three games. Last week against the Colts, Carr racked up 22.3 DraftKings points. Carr’s stats for the season so far are 1,910 passing yards, eight touchdowns, and four interceptions.
I believe another thing that will fuel Carr this week is the drama going on in Vegas right now. The Raiders released Carr after he led them to a playoff season, and now he has the Saints tied for first place in the NFC South while they have benched his replacement, Jimmy Garoppolo. With that in his head, he will look to continue his success with this Saints team and win games. All fantasy managers and DFS players alike should feel confident rostering Carr as he should be a top ten quarterback this week. Grab him if you want the win!
