After the horrible start to the season, the Chicago Bears finally got a big win against the Commanders on Thursday Night Football with a score of 40-20. The team actually looked like they were alive again, and their big receiver pickup was on fire.

This offseason, the Bears traded away the No. 1 overall pick to the Carolina Panthers in exchange for D.J. Moore and picks. They also added free agents Tremaine Edmunds, T.J Edwards and Yannick Ngakoue to the team. Despite all that, the defense was ranked 31st and the offense 22nd entering Thursday’s game. They lost defensive coordinator Alan Williams after he stepped down after two weeks. Fields made comments that he felt robotic on the field and thought it was the coaching, but later clarified that he was not blaming it on coaching. Nothing was going right for Chicago.

This team has had a lot of obstacles to get over already in this early season, but they came to play Thursday night. D.J. Moore was by far the best player on the field with eight catches, 230 yards, and three touchdowns. This is why Chicago traded for Moore, and he shined.

D.J. has set a Bears franchise record for the most receiving yards in a two-game span with 361 receiving yards, previously held by Alshon Jeffery. Through the first five games, Moore has 531 receiving yards, which is more than any Bears receiver in the entire 2022 season.

Justin Fields also had a great night, throwing for 282 yards and four touchdowns and rushing for 57 yards. Is this the start of the Bear coming to life as most anticipated prior to the season starting, or was it a fluke? The Bears get Minnesota at home next Sunday, so they have plenty of time to rest and prepare for that game. Whether this was a fluke or this team is finally ready to work together, it was a fun game to watch and they looked like they were having fun. That is why these men sign up to do this job because they love it and want to have fun!
