I actually wrote my article last week after Monday Night RAW. That means this article will only feature updates from Friday Night SmackDown. For now, let’s run through the list and get you caught up on some of the most recent storylines. Have a great day, everyone, and may the slams be with you.
10. Logan Paul:
“The Maverick” Logan Paul has had a lot to deal with now that Seth Rollins is back and ready to get some revenge. With the Vision now being targeted by Rollins, you can expect Paul to be a focus of that aggression, since he was the one being attacked by the masked man.
9. L.A. Knight:
L.A. Knight came out to save Rollins last night once the Vision showed up to get their revenge on Rollins. However, since Rollins departure, Knight has had his hands full with the Vision, from promos to matches. Look for that to continue as Knight is writing his story, which includes another Wrestlemania match, in his future. YEAH!
8. Carmelo Hayes:
Carmelo Hayes was back to defending his U.S. Championship this week, and this time, AAA’s Hijo Del Dr. Wagner Jr. decided to answer the challenge. After another great match, Hayes was able to secure the pin and retain his title. This past week, Hayes was not in action, so I’m sure we’ll see him this week, given the busy schedule he has been on, defending his title every week.
7. Dominik Mysterio:
Dominik Mysterio has been lost, and it seems the final cracks have taken place in the Judgement Day. With Finn Balór, recent title shots, and now Dominik losing his Intercontinental Championship to Penta, Mysterio is lost at this moment. Can Liv Morgan revive him once again, or is it doom for Mysterio and his momentum? Only time will tell.
6. Penta:
This was a long time coming, but after Penta defeated Dominik Mysterio and won the Intercontinental Championship, he deserves the sixth spot overall. Penta’s popularity has risen through the roof, and last week, he defended his title against the Original El Grande Americano. Penta won that match and now sits in defending his championship at Wrestlemania.
5. “Main Event” Jey Uso:
Jey and Jimmy Uso were back to their usual Uso-antics, by helping Rollins on one hand, and backing up Reigns on the other. Since the Bloodline reunion seems imminent, you can expect the Usos to remind everyone why we can love them and hate them at the same time. YEET!
4. Roman Reigns:
Roman Reigns made his return to RAW to have a promo with Punk. After asking the WWE to acknowledge him, C.M. Punk came out to go back and forth with Reigns. Since Reign’s family is being brought into it, you can expect this story to get wild, leading up to Wrestlemania. Acknowledge him!
3. Randy Orton:
Randy Orton makes his way back on the list and takes over the third spot after Drew McIntyre lost his relevancy to Rhodes on SmackDown. With how active Orton has been, I feel strongly about giving him this spot after he won the Elimination Chamber, and now headlines Wrestlemania against his friend and former student. Things hit the fan this week on SmackDown, but that’s to be expected when you’re dealing with Viper.
2. C.M. Punk:
C.M. Punk had another epic promo with Roman Reigns last week, which led to this week’s promo involving the Usos. Punk made his usual digs at the Usos, calling them “young boys,” and bringing up the Samoan’s family lore. This led to Jimmy Uso hitting Punk with the microphone.
1. Cody Rhodes:
Cody Rhodes moves back into the number one position after reclaiming his throne in Friday Night SmackDown by defeating Drew McIntyre and winning the Undisputed WWE Championship. He now sets his eyes on Randy Orton, who will be his Wrestlemania opponent, as of right now. This led to Friday, in which Orton decided to turn heel for this match by beating Rhodes down.
