NBA: Every Franchise’s All-Time Scoring Leader

This article focuses on every current team’s all-time leading scorer. The NBA has had many teams move from city to city. There is no current team in Seattle for instance, but the Supersonics were one of the great franchises for a time. They were a fantastic franchise that lasted five decades, from 1967 to 2008. They won their sole Championship in 1979, and moved to Oklahoma City after the 2008 season. This list will include Oklahoma City’s all-time leading scorer, not Seattle’s.

Utah Jazz- Karl Malone 36,374 pts:

The Mailman is one of the best power forwards of all time and perched atop this list. With the way players are changing teams, he is likely to remain here.

Los Angeles Lakers-Kobe Bryant 33,643 pts:

The Black mamba is legitimately in the discussion to be on the Mt Rushmore of all-time players.

Dallas Mavericks-Dirk Nowitzki 31,560 pts:

Nowitzki often gets overlooked but he is truly one of the game’s best players.

Chicago Bulls-Michael Jordan 29,277:

There is only one GOAT, and his name is Michael Jordan. Aside from his impact on the court, look at his impact culterally, as well as off the court with the way contracts are negotiated for players.

Houston Rockets-Hakeem Olajuwon 26,511 pts:

Olajuwon may not be considered in the same breath as Bill Russell, Wilt Chamberlain, or Jabbar, but to me, he is potentially on the Mt Rushmore of centers.

San Antonio Spurs-Tim Duncan 26,496 pts:

The Big Fundamental is one of the most overlooked players the game has ever seen, but his five championship rings do a lot of talking for him.

Boston Celtics-John Havlicek 26,395 pts:

Havlicek is the king of the most storied franchise in the NBA, as their leading scorer. About 4500 pts behind him, injuries derailed Larry Bird’s chances of catching him.

Indiana Pacers-Reggie Miller 25,279 pts:

Miller is on the list of best players to never win a championship…he shares that distinction with Karl Malone, atop this list.

Golden State Warriors-Steph Curry 24,811 pts…and counting:

Simply put, Curry is the greatest shooter the game has ever seen. At age 37 he still has great basketball in him. He currently has four championship rings, and by the end of next season, will realistically crack the top five on this list.

New York Knicks-Patrick Ewing 23,665 pts:

Ewing was the King of NY for awhile, but wasn’t ever able to get the Knicks a title. For all of his greatness, he was always a step below Olajuwon.

Atlanta Hawks-Dominique Wilkins 23,292 pts:

The Human Highlight Reel was the Hawks for much of the 80s.

Cleveland Cavaliers-LeBron James 23,119 pts:

James has played exactly half of his 22 seasons in Cleveland, and over half his pts with them.

Sacramento Kings-Oscar Robertson 22,009 pts:

It’s amazing that the Big O played his last game with the Kings in 1970, and nobody has surpassed his scoring record over the past 55 yrs.

Denver Nuggets-Alex English 21,645 pts:

In the history of the game there haven’t been many smoother players to lace them up. He averaged over 35pts in eight consecutive seasons.

Philadelphia 76ers-Hal Greer 21,586 pts:

He played his entire 15 yr career in Philadelphia from 1958 to 1973.

Miami Heat-Dwayne Wade 21,556 pts:

Wade was the main draw for Lebron James to leave Clevaland, winning two championships in that run. He also won a championship in 2006.

Milwaukee Bucks-Giannis Antetokounmpo 19,895 pts…and counting?:

There is a ton of chatter that Giannis will be leaving Milwaukee…and where there is smoke there is usually fire. I would not be surprised at all if he’s played his last home game for the Bucks.

Portland Trailblazers-Damian Lillard 19,376 pts:

He began his career with the Trailblazers, playing for 11 seasons, before going to Milwaukee.

Minnesota Timberwolves-Kevin Garnett 19,201 pts:

The Big Ticket won his ring in Boston, but he made his bones in Minnesota.

Oklahoma City Thunder-Russell Westbrook 18,859 pts:

It’s amazing that a player who’s played on six teams is the leader of any of their franchises, but his first 11 were all spent with the Thunder.

Detroit Pistons-Isiah Thomas 18,822 pts:

Truly one of the league’s best all-time point guards, he may end up being most remembered for not being on The Dream Team.

Phoenix Suns-Devin Booker 16,452 pts:

Booker is one the league’s most dynamic players. He just surpassed Walter Davis and will be adding to his lead in the years to come.

Washington WIzards-Elvin Hayes 15,551 pts:

Similar to Oscar Robertson, it’s amazing to think nobody has surpassed Hayes in 44 seasons. He sandwiched a nine yr career in Washington, between two stints in Houston, at the beginning and end of his career.

Toronto Raptors-Demar Derozen 13,296 pts:

In the franchises 30 yr career, Derozen leads all Raptors as the team’s all-time scorer.

Los Angeles Clippers-Randy Smith 12,735 pts:

If I were to give most people 10 guesses, they wouldn’t know Smith is the Clippers all-time leading scorer…most would say Blake Griffin. He’s no.2 on the list.

Charlotte Hornets-Kemba Walker 12,009 pts:

The Hornets were founded in 1988, and had a decade stint as the Bobcats from 2004 to 2014.

Memphis Grizzlies-Mike Conley 11,733 pts:

They were founded in 1995, and were originally in Vancouver. They’ve been in Memphis since 2021, and Conley is the franchises all-time leader.

Orlando Magic-Dwight Howard 11,435 pts:

The franchise’s most famous alumnus is probably Shaquille O’Neal, but Howard leads the team in all-time scoring.

New Orleans Pelicans-Anthony Davis 11,059 pts:

It’s amazing that Davis is on this list, having only played seven seasons with the Pelicans.

Brooklyn Nets-Brook Lopez 10,444 pts:

Out of all of the names on this list, it is unfathomable to me that no player has scored more pts for the Nets than Lopez.
