The first week of the 2025 season has passed. Numerous players are off to a hot start. Below is a breakdown of the top ten catchers heading into week 2:

1. Keibert Ruiz, Washington Nationals

Ruiz is off to a hot start hitting .571 with two home runs and 11 total bases.

2. Adley Rutschman, Baltimore Orioles

Rustschman capped off Opening Day with two home runs.

3. Austin Wells, New York Yankees

Wells led off Opening Day with a home run. It was the first time in Yankees history a catcher led off a game with a home run.

4. Ivan Herrera, St. Louis Cardinals

Herrera’s fast start sees him slashing .571/.625/.857.

5. Will Smith, Los Angeles Dodgers

Smith finished the first week of the season with one home run and nine total bases.

6. Salvador Perez, Kansas City Royals

7. Logan O’Hoppe, Los Angeles Angels

The young Angels catcher has one home run and five total bases through his first two games.

8. Hunter Goodman, Colorado Rockies
