NFL Week 11 Zeroes

Matt Eberflus/Bears

Caleb Wiliams did make some big plays when the Bears needed them if you want to look for a positive, but the Bears had one of the worst losses of the weekend, and right now, many Bears fans are calling for the job of head coach Matt Eberflus. Not only did the Bears have numerous penalties called against them, including a horrible neutral zone infraction penalty on 4th and 1 early in the game, Eberflus’s clock management at the end of the game led to a horrible defeat. Kicker Cairo Santos has one of the lower trajectories on long kicks and there was enough time at the end of the game to have run another play and gotten him closer. Letting time elapse when there was still time to get another play (and more yards) in was a head-scratchingly awful move that likely cost the team a victory.

Doug Pederson

The only bright spots for this team are Brian Thomas Jr. and Evan Engram. The Jaguars were ahead 3-0, but the Lions stormed back to lead 28-6 at halftime and then scored 24 unanswered points in the second half. Jacksonville looked like it had given up on defense and this wasn’t the first time this season that that has happened. The Jaguars stand at 2-9 on the season at this point, Jaguars owner Sharif Khan needs to bite the bullet and fire Pederson in order not to lose the fan base who is demanding for his immediate removal.

Lamar Jackson

After leading the Ravens to the top-ranked offense through the first ten weeks of the season, Jackson struggled mightily, only completing 16 passes for 207 yards against Pittsburgh. Jackson missed his receivers all game long and was rushed out of the pocket continually by Pittsburgh’s defense. In a game to decide who was the early favorite in the AFC North, Jackson came up small in a big situation.

Jaylen Waddle

Waddle seems to be overlooked continually by Tua Tagovailoa and was out-targeted dramatically by both Jonnu Smith and Tyreek Hill. Waddle had fewer targets than Odell Beckham and Malik Washington, who are both below him on the Miami depth chart and things don’t look like they are changing any time soon.

Aaron Rodgers

The Jets lost another close game at home as they move to 3-8 on the season. Rodgers only threw for 184 yards and was not able to complete more than four passes for 18 yards to star receiver Garrett Wilson, who is the team’s most dynamic player. Jets fans are frustrated with Rodgers as he is not playing anywhere close to playoff caliber. Rodgers intimated that he wants to play again in 2025 which can’t be good news to Jets fans right now.
