With quite a few running backs showing up on the injury report for Week 6, we may need to get creative with their replacements. Let’s take a look at some of the value fantasy managers can find in Week 6.

Chuba Hubbard Fantasy Football Outlook Week 6

Carolina’s Miles Sanders did not practice this week with a shoulder injury. Sanders has been banged up for a couple of weeks now, but he has yet to miss a game. Sanders signed with the Panthers in March of 2023 after four seasons with the Eagles. In 2022, he helped Philadelphia win the NFC Championship by rushing for 1,269 yards and 11 touchdowns, ranking fifth in the league in rushing yards and earned his first Pro Bowl spot. This season has not gone as expected with Sander so far, as he has rushed for just 190 yards on 61 carries, with one touchdown.

While Sanders averaged a 60% snap share over the first three weeks of the season, he has dipped below 50% in the last two games. Chuba Hubbard is getting more time and will be the starter on Sunday if Sanders can’t go.

Hubbard was drafted by the Panthers in the fourth round of the 2021 NFL draft. He played in 17 games with 10 starts in his rookie season, finishing with 786 yards and six touchdowns. Chuba ranked fifth among NFL rookies in yards and second in rushing touchdowns. In the 2022 season, Hubbard played in 15 games, with two starts, and rushed for 466 yards, two touchdowns and 171 receiving yards.

It appears as though Hubbard may become the lead back on this struggling Carolina offense regardless of Sanders’ injury status, so you should feel confident in starting Hubbard as he looks like the superior fantasy option thanks to his pass-catching ability and greater efficiency.

D’Onta Foreman Fantasy Football Outlook Week 6

The Chicago Bears are also dealing with running back injuries, and fantasy managers may be scratching their heads with what to do. Khalil Herbert was injured in the Thursday night game against the Commanders with a high ankle sprain. He has not practiced this week, and I think we can be confident that he will not suit up this Sunday. It is likely a multi-week injury he is dealing with. Under normal circumstances, we would shift over to Roschon Johnson, but he is also dealing with an injury. Johnson took a big hit and sustained a concussion and was immediately ruled out for the rest of the matchup against the Commanders. The NFL is taking concussions very seriously since Tua Tagovailoa’s situation last year, and we have yet to see an offensive player return from a concussion the following week. We have seen players return to practice after a concussion in limited form, but with Johnson being held out of practice this week, it suggests he is not close to being cleared for Week 6. We may see him back for Week 7, but in the meantime, I would urge fantasy managers to take a look at D’Onta Foreman for this week.

Foreman has been a healthy inactive over the last five weeks for the Bears, but he has had successful roles in the past with other teams. In the 2022 season, Foreman played for the Carolina Panthers, rushing for 914 yards and five touchdowns. In total, Foreman has eight 100-yard games in 12 starts over the last two seasons. Foreman is not a season-long lock, but for Week 6, he is a very viable option.
