Dr. Roto’s Daily Prescription 9/27: Why You Should Trade For Breece Hall In Fantasy Football

Dr. Roto explains why he thinks Breece Hall is a great buy-low candidate in fantasy football after a slow start to the season.

Will the Jets ever take off?

The loss of Aaron Rodgers has crushed the Jets’ Super Bowl chances for 2023. With games against Kansas City coming up in Week 4 and Philadelphia in Week 6, it feels likely that the Jets will be 2-4 going into their Bye week in Week 7 (assuming they beat Denver in Week 5).

Fantasy football managers are looking for any kind of hope when it comes to salvaging the seasons of Breece Hall (Roto), Dalvin Cook, Garrett Wilson, and the other Jets skill players. Is there any hope to be found?

Yes! There is hope for Breece Hall … if you are willing to wait until Week 8. In fact, he is a fantastic trade candidate right now.

Here is the Jets schedule from Weeks 8-17:

  • Week 8—Giants
  • Week 9—Chargers
  • Week 10—Raiders
  • Week 11—Bills
  • Week 12—Dolphins
  • Week 13—Falcons
  • Week 14—Texans
  • Week 15—Dolphins
  • Week 16—Commanders
  • Week 17—Browns

These run defenses (except for Atlanta and Cleveland) are some of the worst in the league. There is a great chance that the Jets will lean on Hall in those games and he will be one of the top second-half players this season. Even better is that it won’t cost you much to trade for him at this point because the team is playing so poorly. If you are willing to wait until after Sunday’s potential nightmare against Kansas City, Hall’s value should be even lower.

I would not advise this strategy if you are 1-2 or 0-3 right now and need a win badly. But if you are 3-0 or 2-1 and have good depth at RB, I think you can wait on Hall’s eventual upside. It might really pay off.
