This is the time of year that I begin to lay the foundation for future trades. I take time to understand what players your league mates value highly from your roster and what players on their roster they might have slightly valued lower than you do. However, itβs more of a fact-seeking time than an actual trading time, so donβt just be trigger-happy. Be patient and ask lots of questions.Β
There is only one reason to make a trade, and that is to improve your team. You donβt go all in at this point, so that isnβt ever going to improve your team, as that is only injuries away from making your team worse. Your draft picks in 2025 hold a very high value, and as we approach the end of April, this momentum will continue to build as people want to draft.Β
Keep in mind that the 1.12 has lots more value than the 2.01, so donβt be afraid to take a player and 2.01 for your 1.12 at some point. Making sure your roster is full of guys others want is always the way to have a full cupboard of players. Be persistent about always getting younger and always trying to sell players who possibly had the best year they may ever have.Β
Right now, if you can sell Super Bowl champion Saquon, Iβd do that for value, especially if I could pull a Bijan + offer or something equivalent.Β Try to avoid trading to trade, but be ready to pounce on the players your league-mates say arenβt getting it done.Β Buy players like Garrett Wilson or Chris Olave.Β Remember, draft picks donβt get hurt, so trading them is only at a premium.Β Β
