The Buffalo Bills picked up another win Thursday night, but the victory came with a major concern heading into Week 3.
Wide receiver DJ Moore exited Buffalo’s matchup against the Detroit Lions after suffering a shoulder injury late in the second quarter, leaving Bills fans waiting for more information on the team’s top offseason addition.
DJ Moore ruled out after hard landing

Moore was injured with just under three minutes remaining in the first half while attempting to make a diving catch in the end zone on a pass from Josh Allen. He landed hard on his left shoulder and remained on the ground while trainers examined him.
The veteran wide receiver was eventually able to walk off the field under his own power, but he headed directly to the locker room for further evaluation and X-rays. The Bills initially listed Moore as questionable to return before officially ruling him out for the remainder of the game. The team described the injury as a shoulder issue along with a stinger.
Moore did not record a reception before leaving the game. He had, however, already made a major impact in his Buffalo debut one week earlier, catching five passes for 100 yards and a touchdown in the Bills’ season-opening victory over Houston.
Early update provides some relief for Bills fans

The initial scene understandably created concern that Moore could be facing a significant absence, but the latest update is considerably more encouraging.
According to ESPN, doctors do not consider the injury serious at this point, and Moore is considered day-to-day. He has a chance to play next week against the Los Angeles Chargers, although his availability for that game is not considered certain. ESPN also reported that Moore is believed to have suffered an AC joint sprain.
That is a much different outlook than the potentially season-altering injury Bills fans may have feared when Moore remained on the field in pain and was taken for X-rays.
Buffalo has already seen what Moore can bring to the offense, making his status one of the biggest storylines heading into Week 3. The Bills will have extra time to evaluate the injury before their next game, giving Moore an opportunity to recover before a decision is made on his availability.
