Down a spot. Carolina is excellent both offensively and defensively and has what it takes to beat any team in the league on any given matchup.

6. Minnesota Wild

Minnesota won 2 of their 3 games this past week. Interestingly, they have been superb in away games, specifically this year. Statistically it looks like they are playing over their heads a bit.

7. Toronto Maple Leafs

Toronto lost in 2 tough matchups against Winnipeg and Washington this past week but beat Detroit easily.

8. Tampa Bay Lightning

The Lightning beat the Panthers and Rangers this past week but lost to the Canadiens, who have been surprisingly looking much stronger of late.

Edmonton suffered an overtime loss to the Kings and were beaten by the lowly Ducks this past week. With their impressive personnel, they still feel like a team that could move quickly up the standings further.
