It’s that time of year in the NFL. The Good teams are making their runs toward the playoffs, while the bad teams are looking toward the future. Teams looking toward the future aren’t just looking at their rosters; they also have to examine if they have the right coaching staff in place. Mike McCarthy and the Cowboys are a perfect example of this. This season has been disastrous, and McCarthy has proven he isn’t the guy to get Dallas back to a Super Bowl. On MNF, we saw it again. His team was unprepared; they didn’t know the rule on the blocked punt, which cost them a win. His time in Dallas should be coming to an end.
Here are five more NFL coaches who are on the hot seat and will likely not be back with their teams next season.
Brian Daboll
Another game, another lack of offense. Superstar rookie Malik Nabers is frustrated, and Giants fans are wearing bags over their heads. Daboll needs to win at least two games to keep his job.
Antonio Pierce
He’s getting out-coached every week, and the team can’t find its groove on offense or defense. Even worse is that Brock Bowers only had three receptions against a bad Tampa defense.
Brian Callahan
A loss at home to the toothless Jaguars? It might be best to cut bait with Callahan and start over with another coach. The ghost of Mike Vrabel is angry with Titans management.
Darren Rizzi
He’s done a good job as interim, but he can’t lose his cool like he did with the punter on the sidelines. Veteran players don’t take kindly to being yelled at in front of the cameras.
Jerrod Mayo
Robert Kraft supposedly really likes Mayo, but Week 15 at Arizona might be the last chance the team has to win a game this season. The fans know they have something special in Drake Maye and don’t want to waste his rookie contract.
