NFL: Top Fantasy Football Waiver Wire Adds For Week 14

Every week, I will share my favorite waiver wire or free agent pickups in fantasy football. Some weeks are more important than others because of bye weeks, but adding the right player any week can make all the difference. Here is what I have for week 14!

QB Derek Carr, Saints

He has found chemistry with MVS and is putting up decent fantasy numbers. It helps that he can dump passes off to Alvin Kamara, too. He is in a good matchup this week against the Giants, and with a number of teams on bye, you might need a replacement QB.

RB Isaac Guerendo, 49ers

Hopefully, if you had Guerendo earlier in the season before CMC came back, you held onto him. If you didn’t, or the team that had him didn’t, pounce right now. He is worth a top waiver priority. CMC is done for the year, and Mason is hurt, too.

RB Jonathon Brooks, Panthers

CHARLOTTE, NORTH CAROLINA – DECEMBER 01: Jonathon Brooks #24 of the Carolina Panthers runs with the ball during the first quarter of a game against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers at Bank of America Stadium on December 01, 2024 in Charlotte, North Carolina. (Photo by Grant Halverson/Getty Images)

There is no doubt that Chuba Hubbard is the lead back in Carolina, but Brooks finally got to see some work in their week 13 loss to Tampa, and he looked good. The Panthers want to have a strong one-two punch with Hubbard and Brooks and should continue to feed them both. The matchup this week is a tough one, though, going on the road to face the Eagles.

QB Will Levis, Titans

PITTSBURGH, PA – NOVEMBER 02: Will Levis #8 of the Tennessee Titans drops back to pass during an NFL football game against the Pittsburgh Steelers at Acrisure Stadium on November 2, 2023 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. (Photo by Cooper Neill/Getty Images)

Levis has looked a lot better over the past few weeks. He is connecting well with both Calvin Ridley and Nick Westbrook-Ikhine and has an excellent matchup this weekend against the Jags, who rank dead last against QBs in fantasy football.

WR Adam Theilen, Panthers

CHARLOTTE, NORTH CAROLINA – SEPTEMBER 18: Adam Thielen #19 of the Carolina Panthers scores a touchdown against Alontae Taylor #1 of the New Orleans Saints during the fourth quarter in the game at Bank of America Stadium on September 18, 2023 in Charlotte, North Carolina. He missed most of the season with injury but is back now and making big plays. He is the reliable veteran WR for Bryce Young, and as Young and the Panthers continue to improve as they have, Theilen will play a large role in being a team leader.

WR Nick Westbrook-Ikhine, Titans

He keeps finding the endzone, and as QB Will Levis continues to improve, so will his pass catchers. Calvin Ridley is still the top dog in Tennessee, but there is no questioning who the number two pass catcher is anymore.

TE Pat Freiermuth, Steelers

LANDOVER, MARYLAND – NOVEMBER 10: Pat Freiermuth #88 and Mike Williams #18 of the Pittsburgh Steelers celebrate after Williams’ receiving touchdown in the fourth quarter of a game against the Washington Commanders at Northwest Stadium on November 10, 2024 in Landover, Maryland. His best two games receiving this season have come in the past two weeks. Besides George Pickens, it appears that Freiermuth is the second favorite target of QB Russell Wilson.

QB Aiden O’Connell, Raiders

KANSAS CITY, MISSOURI – NOVEMBER 29: Aidan O’Connell #12 of the Las Vegas Raiders throws a pass against the Kansas City Chiefs during the first quarter in the game at GEHA Field at Arrowhead Stadium on November 29, 2024 in Kansas City, Missouri. (Photo by David Eulitt/Getty Images)

He looked good in week 13 against a good Chiefs defense on the road in a cold weather game in KC. He takes his team to Tampa this week, so the weather will be warm, and the defense isn’t nearly as good. The Bucs can score a lot of points, though, so O’Connell could even get garbage time opportunities.

Defense: Saints

LAS VEGAS, NEVADA – OCTOBER 05: A Boise State Broncos cheerleader’s “DEFENSE” sign lies on the field before the team’s game against the UNLV Rebels at Sam Boyd Stadium on October 5, 2019 in Las Vegas, Nevada. The Broncos defeated the Rebels 38-13. (Photo by Ethan Miller/Getty Images)

They get to face the Giants, who are the worst team in football. The Giants offensive line stinks, their QB stinks, their coaching stinks, and they should be picked on the rest of the season when it comes to team defenses in fantasy football.

TE Juwan Johnson, Saints

NEW ORLEANS, LOUISIANA – DECEMBER 1: Juwan Johnson #83 of the New Orleans Saints is unable to make a catch against the Los Angeles Rams during the first half of a game at the Caesars Superdome on December 1, 2024 in New Orleans, Louisiana. (Photo by Derick E. Hingle/Getty Images)

Taysom Hill is hurt, so Johnson is now the only TE that will make plays offensively. The increased volume he is about to see in the offense makes him worthy of an add this week.
