Being bold is easy, but being bold and having the predictions come true is easier said than done. I have made my fair share of bold proclamations, and I am sure that more often than not, they don’t come true. These five actually have some legs, though; let me know in the comments section if they are too bold, not bold enough, or just right!
The Washington Commanders Miss The Playoffs after starting 7-2
QB Jayden Daniels was the right pick for Washington in the draft, and he has had some incredible moments in his rookie season. The Commanders haven’t been this good since the rookie season of RG3, which feels like forever ago. Still, the offense has gotten stale; they have lost 2 in a row, 3 of their last 5, and their 2 wins came against bad Giants and Bears teams. Their defense was playing way over their heads in the first 2 months of the season as well, and suddenly, they have also come back down to earth. Although this team is much improved from where it was a year ago, there is a strong chance that they will finish the season 10-7 after starting 7-2, and they could miss the playoffs because of teams like the Packers, Vikings, and 49ers all getting wild card spots.
The Arizona Cardinals Win The NFC West After Finishing Last In 2023-2024
This one is simple, really. The Seahawks have fallen on hard times, the 49ers haven’t played up to their standards, and the Rams defense has let them down. Arizona has one of the easiest schedules in the NFL, thanks to their last-place finish a year ago, and they have already beaten the heavily favorited 49ers. The offense looks great, with Kyler Murray healthy for a full season, and the running game has been elite. The defense has been a pleasant surprise, for sure, and if this prediction doesn’t come true, it will likely be because their defense falls apart.
The Los Angeles Chargers Go To The AFC Championship Game
The Chargers have what it takes to win in the playoffs. They have an elite defense, an elite running game, and an elite coach. They also have an elite quarterback, Justin Herbert, who we still haven’t seen the best from this season. Only recently has coach Harbaugh opened up the offense and let Herbert throw more, and in a close game, with the game on the line, Herbert has the skills to come up clutch. The Chargers won’t win their division, but they will win two playoff games before losing to the Chiefs in the conference finals.
The Giants Don’t Win Another Game And Finish 2-15
I am not sure how coach Brian Daboll or QB Daniel Jones still have their jobs. This Giants team is absolutely horrible, and I don’t see it getting any better. Teams like the Bucs and Cowboys have lost 4 straight heading into the week, but those teams have suffered injuries to their key players. The Giants really have no excuse for their poor play, especially after hitting on both Malik Nabers and Tyron Tracy in this year’s NFL draft. It’s about time the Giants either fire Daboll or Daboll gives Drew Lock a chance at playing QB because it really can’t get any worse for the G-Men.
After Starting The Season 1-7, The Panthers Finish With More Wins Than The Cowboys
Panthers QB Bryce Young was horrible a year ago, and the Panthers were horrible because of it. Things started badly again for Young this season, so he was benched for journeyman Andy Dalton. Young finally got his job back a few weeks ago, and although there were some growing pains, he is playing the best football of his career since entering the NFL. The Panthers have even won two straight games heading into a bye week. They play in a weak division and have one of the easier schedules in the league, so they could rack up some more wins along the way. The Cowboys, on the other hand, are straight garbage at this point. Dak is done for the year, and there are really only 1 or 2 games on their remaining schedule that they even have a remote shot at winning.
