The New York Giants have plenty of questions heading into the 2026 season, but one of their biggest storylines has been trending in a very positive direction.

Malik Nabers is making significant progress as he works his way back from knee surgery, and everything coming out of Giants training camp has been encouraging.

For Nabers, the focus has been simple: stack good days together.

Nabers Looking More Like Himself

Every practice has provided another opportunity for Nabers to test his surgically repaired knee. Each route, catch, and movement has been closely monitored by the Giants’ coaching and training staff, with Nabers himself evaluating how the knee responds.

So far, the results have been extremely encouraging.

In a video shared by Giants beat writer Art Stapleton, Nabers looked strong, fast, and agile, showing the ability to make quick movements while running routes and catching passes.

That’s exactly what Giants fans wanted to see.

Nabers has arguably been the best story of Giants training camp to this point, and it’s not particularly close. Considering how important he is to New York’s offense, his continued progress could be one of the biggest factors in determining how successful the team can be this season.

Bigger Tests Are Coming

Of course, training camp practices are only part of the process.

Nabers still has more difficult hurdles ahead as the Giants increase the intensity of his workload. The next major test could come Monday, when New York returns to the practice field for two days before traveling to Miami.

The Giants are scheduled to hold a joint practice with the Dolphins on Thursday, followed by their second preseason game against Miami on Saturday, Aug. 22.

Those environments will provide a much better indication of where Nabers truly stands.

For now, however, there is plenty of reason for optimism.

The Giants aren’t simply hoping Nabers will eventually look like himself. He’s already showing signs that he’s getting there, and every successful practice brings him one step closer to being the explosive playmaker New York desperately needs.
