MLB: Second Basemen Power Rankings

The first four weeks of the 2025 season are behind us, and numerous players are off to hot starts. As the weather starts heating up across the country, there will be players finally breaking out of early-season slumps and the start of teams calling up their top prospects. Below is a breakdown of the top 10 second basemen in MLB heading into Week 5.

1. Tommy Edman, Los Angeles Dodgers

Edman is one of the hottest hitters this season, slashing .280/.318/.585 with seven home runs and 15 RBI.

2. Jazz Chisholm, New York Yankees

Through 21 games, Chisholm has six home runs, 12 RBI, and five stolen bases.

3. Kyren Paris, Los Angeles Angels

The Angels’ second baseman has cooled down but owns a .306/.404/.673 slash line with five home runs and eight RBI.

4. Gabriel Arias, Cleveland Guardians

An early-season breakout, Arias has four home runs and 10 RBI.

5. Ozzie Albies, Atlanta Braves

Fully healthy, Albies is off to a hot start with four home runs, 11 RBI, and two stolen bases.

6. Brendan Donovan, St. Louis Cardinals

Donovan has feasted on MLB pitching, slashing .370/.402/.556 with three home runs and 13 RBI.

7. Brice Turang, Milwaukee Brewers

The Milwaukee second baseman is off to a quick start, trying to replicate last year’s production as he’s slashed .313/.349/.438 with three home runs, 10 RBI, and five stolen bases.

8. Kristian Campbell, Boston Red Sox

The Red Sox’s rookie has three home runs and six RBI through 20 games.

9. Matt McLain, Cincinnati Reds

After missing the entire 2024 season, McLain has four home runs and nine RBI through 41 at-bats.

Gimenez leads MLB second basemen with seven stolen bases to go along with three home runs and eight RBI.
