The first four weeks of the 2025 season are behind us, and numerous players are off to hot starts. As the weather starts heating up across the country, there will be players finally breaking out of early-season slumps and the start of teams calling up their top prospects. Below is a breakdown of the top 10 catchers in MLB heading into Week 5.
1. Carson Kelly, Chicago Cubs

Last week, Kelly added two more home runs. He is slashing .419/.578/1.097 with six home runs and 18 RBI.
2. Cal Raleigh, Seattle Mariners

Raleigh continues to feast on pitching and currently leads MLB catchers with eight home runs.
3. Ivan Herrera, St. Louis Cardinals

Currently on the IL with a knee injury, Herrera’s .381/.458/1.048 slash line, combined with four home runs and 11 RBI, ranks him third overall among MLB catchers.
4. Logan O’Hoppe, Los Angeles Angels

Last week saw O’Hoppe hit a slow stretch, but his five home runs rank him third among catchers.
5. William Contreras, Milwaukee Brewers

Contreras started the season slowly but finished last week slashing .333/.400/.500 with one home run and four RBI. His season totals sit at three home runs and 12 RBI.
6. Shea Langeliers, Athletics

The young catcher continues to blossom. On the season, he has four home runs and 10 RBI.
7. Sean Murphy, Atlanta Braves

After missing the first few weeks of the season, Murphy has made up for lost time with four home runs and eight RBI in his first nine games.
8. Austin Wells, New York Yankees

9. Dillon Dingler, Detroit Tigers

The rookie catcher has taken over the starting catcher role since Jake Rogers went on the injured list. He is slashing .302/.315/.509 with two home runs and nine RBI.
10. Jonah Heim, Texas Rangers
