The MLB season officially begins this week, so before it gets rolling, I wanted to get some last-minute bold predictions in. Let me know what your bold prediction is for the season.

Tigers Lead AL In Wins

OAKLAND, CALIFORNIA – SEPTEMBER 21: Tarik Skubal #29 of the Detroit Tigers pitches against the Oakland Athletics in the first inning at RingCentral Coliseum on September 21, 2023 in Oakland, California. (Photo by Brandon Vallance/Getty Images)

The American League isn’t like the NL.. the NL has 4-5 very good teams who are almost a lock to make the playoffs.. the AL is wide open, though… the Yankees, Orioles, and Red Sox all have questions in their starting rotation… the Astros lost key talent, the Rangers are coming off a down year, the Guardians and Royals could easily take steps back, and the Mariners lack offense… the Tigers were the best team in the league in the final months of last season, and they have made solid additions in the offseason.. do not be surprised if they run away with the AL Central..

Red Sox Win AL East

The Orioles and Yankees are likely still the favorites in most people’s minds, but truth be told… the Yankees have a lot of key injuries already, and the Orioles starting pitching is very suspect…the Red Sox lineup is the best in the American league on paper, they have elite prospects coming up, and they did improve their rotation and bullpen this offseason..

Elly De La Cruz has 35 HR and 75 SB

CHICAGO, ILLINOIS – AUGUST 03: Elly De La Cruz #44 of the Cincinnati Reds celebrates after hitting a solo home run during the first inning of a game against the Chicago Cubs at Wrigley Field on August 03, 2023 in Chicago, Illinois. this may seem like a stretch, but he did have 67 SB a year ago, and he hit 25 HR.. the SB may not even be bold, but a jumpup to 35 HR is…. The thing is, he’s a year older, a year more experienced and he has a great home ballpark to hit in..

Blue Jays trade Vlad, Bo, Springer, Hoffman, and Gausman before the trade deadline

Vladimir Guerrero Jr. #27 Jr. of Toronto Blue Jays

The Blue Jays clearly have a lot of talented players on their team, but they also don’t have much depth.. they also have a lot of expiring contracts, and if they can’t agree to extensions with these players, it makes more sense for them to trade them… if they are in 5th in the AL East at the all-star break, and I expect them to be, do not be shocked if Vlad, Bo. Springer, Hoffman and Gausman are all traded to contenders..

The Brewers and Padres both miss the playoffs after being there last season

The Cubs look to be the favorites in the NL Central, and the DBacks got better in the NL West, the dodgers were already the best and got better, while the Padres got worse… both Mil and SD will miss the playoffs

Astros miss the playoffs

The Mariners pitching will keep them competitive and the Rangers should bounce back…both are reasons why the Astros will take a step back, then you also have to consider they lost Kyle Tucker and Alex Bregman..
