With so many content creators doing so many different lists while we’re on the road to Wrestlemania, I thought it would be cool to do an article like this. I hope that this list not only brings back some memories from these events but also helps you relive some of the most iconic moments in sports entertainment, in the process. 10. Wrestlemania 24: Florida Citrus Bowl, March 30th, 2008
Starting off the list is Wrestlemania 24, which had an attendance record of 74,635. The Main Event that night was between Edge and the Undertaker, in which the Taker defeated Edge to win the World Heavyweight Championship.
9. Wrestlemania 30: Mercedes-Benz Superdome, April 6th, 2014
Everyone was chanting yes, yes, yes after Daniel Bryan defeated Dave Bautista, and Randy Orton in a triple threat match for the WWE World Championship. That crowd was recorded at 75,167 making it one of the most popular Wrestlemanias ever.
8. Wrestlemania 33: Camping World Stadium, April 2nd, 2017
This Wrestlemania was nothing short of amazing as 75,245 fans were in attendance to witness something they only saw once before. Roman Reigns became the second person to defeat the Undertaker in a No Holds Barred match.
7. Wrestlemania 31: Levi’s Stadium, March 29th, 2015
Brock Lesnar and Roman Reigns started out their match for the World Heavyweight Championship in front of 76,976 passionate fans. That’s when Seth Rollins surprised everyone by cashing in his Money in the Bank contract making it a triple threat match which led to him winning the World Heavyweight Championship.
6. Wrestlemania 34: Mercedes-Benz Superdome, April 8th, 2018
Roman Reigns and Brock Lesnar had a lot of matches leading up to the Bloodline, but this time out, Lesnar won, retaining the Universal Championship. The feat was witnessed in front of 78,133 fans, who all thought Reigns was going to win.
5. Wrestlemania 28: Sun Life Stadium, April 1st, 2012
The Rock and John Cena had never clashed until Wrestlemania 28 that advertised for one year leading up to the event. The Rock eventually defeated Cena in front of 78,363 fans, who were also excited to have witnessed fantasy booking at its best. It’s wild that these two are now in cahoots while eyeing Cody Rhodes for what could be Cena’s 17th championship, surpassing Ric Flair for most championships.
4. Wrestlemania 23: Ford Field, April 1st, 2007
Wrestlemania 23 was set up to be another epic night in WWE history as John Cena and Shawn Michaels locked up for the WWE Championship. That led to 80,103 fans watching two legends battle in which Cena defeated Micheals, retaining the WWE Championship.
3. Wrestlemania 35: Met Life Stadium, April 7th, 2019
This was a massive event in which 82,265 fans were in attendance for. What they witnessed was the first ever Wrestlemania Main Event, which featured a women’s match for the very first time. This match coined the phrase Becky “Two Belts” as Becky Lynch defeated both Rhonda Rousey and Charlotte Flair, winning both Women’s championships in the process.
2. Wrestlemania 3: Pontiac Silverdome, March 29th, 1987
It’s kind of amazing that this Wrestlemania held the attendance record for so long, which was 93,173. This mass of people witnessed one of the greatest Wrestlemanias ever as we saw a five-star match between “Macho Man” Randy Savage and Ricky “The Dragon” Steamboat. We also saw one of the greatest fears of strength at that time displayed as Hulk Hogan tore his back, slamming Andre “ The Giant” in the Main Event.
1. Wrestlemania 32: AT&T Stadium: April 3rd, 2016
A lot of people and myself included, never thought that Wrestlemania 3 would ever be surpassed die to the way the WWE set up their stages now. Well that happened and 101,763 people witnessed HHH losing to Roman Reigns for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship.
