We are less than a week away from the biggest game of the NFL season. Here is how the teams match up on offense:
Quarterback

The comparisons between these two is not close, not because of Jalen Hurts’ incompetencies but because of Mahomes’ greatness. Mahomes has been there and done it too many times to discount him. However, it would not be wise to overlook Jalen Hurts. Hurts seems to come up big in huge games like Mahomes, even in their first Super Bowl matchup, Jalen Hurts played extremely well with 374 total yards and 4 total touchdowns. Despite all of this, Mahomes has been the best quarterback in the NFL for 6 seasons now and shows no signs of stopping.
Running Backs
![Saquon Barkley #26 of the Philadelphia Eagles](https://drroto.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/09/Saquon-Barkley-26-of-the-Philadelphia-Eagles.jpg)
Saquon Barkley is the best running back in the NFL, and it is not close, his explosiveness and skill combined with the Eagles O line creates a force to be reckoned with. The Chiefs utilize more of a committee with Isaiah Pacheco, Kareem Hunt, and Samaje Perine. These three are a good unit throughout, but Saquon has been running with his head on fire and will most likely win Offensive Player of the Year.
Offensive Line

The Eagles offensive line moves with continuity and with great precision, they have been the best offensive line unit in the NFL for a few years. Led by future hall of famer Lane Johnson, they have protected Hurts and opened holes for Barkley to near perfection. The Chiefs offensive line has still been good, but they are not close to the Eagles as they have glaring problems at right tackle with Juwaan Taylor who is one of the most penalized players in the entire NFL.
Wide Receivers

This is probably the closest between all the position groups so far, although the Eagles have the better duo, there is a significant dropoff after AJ Brown and Devonta Smith. In comparison the Chiefs have a plethora of solid options with Xavier Worthy, Deandre Hopkins, Hollywood Brown, and Juju Smith Schuster. The difference in the position groups is how they are built, however, the Eagles have a solidified wide receiver 1 and 2 where the Chiefs have question marks at their wide receiver 1.
Tight Ends

Both teams have good tight ends, the Eagles have Dallas Goedert and Grant Calcaterra who are very reliable options and solid blockers. On the other side, we all know the Chiefs have Travis Kelce, who is one of the all-time greats, but their unsung heroes of Noah Gray and David Bell give the edge to the Chiefs in this matchup. Gray and Bell are an extra safety layer for Mahomes on top of his already great connection with Travis Kelce.
