Joe Mixon took a $3 million pay cut to remain with the Bengals in 2023. I greatly respect a player who puts winning in front of his contract. Mixon has been going in the mid-fourth round of drafts, but I expect him to get steamed up in the coming weeks, probably ending up as a mid-third. He’s a three-down back in an explosive offense and can no longer be overlooked. For what it’s worth, I’m still bullish on rookie RB Chase Brown as Mixon’s handcuff. Brown should slide nicely into the Samaje Perine role, giving the Bengals two backs who can produce good numbers.
