The 2025 FSGA Champions League Draft took place this Monday night. It was a 14-team draft filled with some of the best players in the fantasy baseball industry. I had the second overall pick. Below you can find my picks and analysis. Should be a fun season!

Doc’s Team:
Round 1: Util Shohei Ohtani, Dodgers
Analysis: Picking second, I knew I was going to get either Witt or Ohtani. Ohtani can be used as a SP too, so I was thrilled to take him.
Round 2: 2B Ketel Marte, D’Backs
Analysis: Second base is particularly weak this season, so I loved getting Marte here.
Round 3: 1B Pete Alonso, Mets
Analysis: If you want to win a fantasy baseball league, make sure to draft a first baseman who hits 30+ home runs.
Round 4: SP Framber Valdez, Astros
Analysis: A SP1 on a solid team.
Round 5: SP Jacob deGrom, Rangers
Analysis: If he gives me 120 IP I will be thrilled.
Round 6: SP Spencer Schwellenbach, Braves
Analysis: I think I have him on all my teams this season.
Round 7: RP Andres Munoz, Mariners
Analysis: Shocked that he lasted to me at this pick.
Round 8: RP Ryan Walker, Giants
Analysis: REALLY shocked that he lasted till the 8th round. He went in Round 5 of my Tout Wars draft.
Round 9: OF Ian Happ, Cubs
Analysis: Solid floor for my first outfielder.
Round 10: 2B Luis Garcia, Nationals
Analysis: Love his 20/20 upside.
Round 11: SS Xavier Edwards, Marlins
Analysis: Could lead the NL in stolen bases and hit close to .300.
Round 12: 3B Eugenio Suarez, Mariners
Analysis: Third base is a disaster, so I felt lucky to get him at this point.
Round 13: C Austin Wells, Yankees
Analysis: Should hit 20 HR this season.
Round 14: OF Lourdes Gurriel, D’Backs
Analysis: One of the safest outfielders in the game.
Round 15: SP Nick Pivetta, Padres
Analysis: Tons of strikeouts but could fall short in wins.
Round 16: SP Max Scherzer, Blue Jays
Analysis: I feel the same about him as I do about deGrom.
Round 17: C Keibert Ruiz, Nationals
Analysis: Took him right before the catcher run started.
Round 18: 3B Connor Norby, Marlins
Analysis: Conner Norby No Matter What!
Round 19: 1B Christian Encarnacion-Strand, Reds
Analysis: Should start the year at 1B with Steer dealing with a shoulder injury.
Round 20: OF J.J. Bleday, Athletics
Analysis: Hits RHP well and still improving.
Round 21: OF Brandon Marsh, Phillies
Analysis: Solid bat in a good offense.
Round 22: OF Luke Raley, Mariners
Analysis: Qualifies at 1B as well which I love.
Round 23: OF Daulton Varsho, Blue Jays
Analysis: He might miss the first two to three weeks of the season, but I love the upside.
Round 24: SP Tobias Myers, Brewers
Analysis: Good back end of rotation arm.
Round 25: RP Orion Kerkering, Phillies
Analysis: Could end up closing for the Phillies by the All-Star Break.
Round 26: SP Hayden Wesneski, Astros
Analysis: Part of the Kyle Tucker deal so you know he will get a long look in the Astros’ rotation.
Round 27: RP Seth Halvorsen, Rockies
Analysis: Love getting a potential closer this late in drafts.
Round 28: OF Tirso Ornelas, Padres
Analysis: LOVE him late. Visionary sleeper!!!
Round 29: 1B Spencer Horwitz, Pirates
Analysis: Great stash as he qualifies at 1B and 2B.
