Every year, we see NFL offenses take a step forward in the right direction. Some are expected and others not so much. Here are 5 NFL offenses that I think will be much improved.

New York Jets

I may be reaching out on a limb with the Jets but I think they will get better by subtraction. Losing QB Aaron Rodgers helps them more than hurts them. His inability to move and avoid pressure left him a sitting duck. The addition of QB Justin Fields will at least create more big plays through his legs and buy more time for receivers like Garrett Wilson to get open. The loss of Rodgers also means that the offensive strength running back duo Breece Hall and Braelon Allen should get more carries. Hall had only 209 carries in 16 games and Allen was barely used especially in the final month. Look for head coach Aaron Glenn to push for the running game and for solid defense to put the team in more running situations.

Indianapolis Colts

Indianapolis Colts quarterback Daniel Jones (17) throws the ball Tuesday, June 10, 2025, during NFL Colts mandatory mini camp at the Indiana Farm Bureau Football Center in Indianapolis.

The Colts have a competition at quarterback between Anthony Richardson and Daniel Jones. Both have struggled but have shown that they can make big plays downfield. Whoever wins the battle will be throwing to a group of underrated receivers in Michael Pittman Jr., Joshua Downs, and Alec Pierce. Look for this young group to take a step forward. Ultimately, the offense is centered around the health of RB Jonathan Taylor. He had 627 yards rushing and 6 touchdowns in his final 4 games. His ability to score from anywhere on the field makes him so special, plus he can catch everything thrown his way. Let’s also not forget first round pick TE Tyler Warren could be a big factor as he is an athletic tight end who could be peppered with targets. If everything goes right, the offense should put up a ton of points with Taylor’s explosiveness matched with an improved passing game.

Jacksonville Jaguars

I think the hire of offensive coordinator Grant 6 Udinski is going to be just what QB Trevor Lawrence needs to be successful. Udinski spent the last three seasons with the Minnesota Vikings and I expect him to pass on his knowledge that he learned from quarterback guru Kevin O’Connell. Also, not only do the Jaguars have stud WR Brian Thomas Jr. back for his second season but they drafted WR Travis Hunter who should make big plays down the field. They also made a sneaky signing in WR Dyami Brown who has room to grow. TE Brenton Strange is solid and very underrated. Look for the Jaguars passing attack to be revamped and sometimes explosive.

Las Vegas Raiders

The Raiders offense should greatly improve in 2025. They upgraded at QB by trading for Geno Smith. He has a quick release and should get the ball into the hands of their playmakers featuring TE Brock Bowers. They also obtained RB Ashton Jeanty with the 6th overall pick. Jeanty can do it all, catch out of the backfield and make explosive plays. He can score from anywhere on the field. Look for the Raiders offense to be more methodical and keep drives alive with their new additions and HC Pete Carroll’s style.

Carolina Panthers

I may be in the minority but I expect the Panthers to have a strong offense in 2025. QB Bryce Young looked like a different quarterback during the final month of last season. He threw for 8touchdowns and rushed for 4 more. I blame his early season struggles on a team that was out of sync top to bottom and a multitude of receiver injuries. This season, receivers Adam Thielen and Xavier Legette should start the season healthy. Plus, the Panthers nabbed the best receiver in the draft in TetairoaMcMillan who I think will be in rookie of the year discussions. RB Chuba Hubbard is a very good back and they added a solid back up in Rico Dowdle. Expect the Panthers to increase their points per game from 20.1 to 23 plus.
