September is finally here after a pretty good event on Sunday with Clash in Paris. There were a few things that happened that I predicted wrong, like Brock interfering in John Cena’s match. However, with Brock still in Paris, you could see that go down on Monday Night RAW, which happens at 2 pm EST today. Also, remember to check out the latest episode of Through the Turnbuckles, as Crissi Rae and I weigh in on the world of wrestling. That being said, let’s get to this week’s power rankings so we can catch up with some of the stories going on right now. Have a great day everyone and may the slams be with you.
Cody Rhodes: Cody Rhodes doesn’t have a match at the Clash in Paris, however, that doesn’t mean he won’t show up this week. We figured out why as he and his wife Brandy, celebrated this weekend with the birth of their new child, Leilani. Congratulations to you and the family, champ.
Seth “Freakin” Rollins: Seth Rollins had to have a backup plan for last night’s Fatal-Four Way match after the Vision dismantled Roman Reigns. This vision came in the form of a hooded person who revealed herself to be none other than his wife, Becky Lynch. With her help, Rollins was able to retain his World Heavyweight Championship.
John Cena: John Cena had his hands full with Logan Paul at Clash in Paris as both wrestlers put on a clinic. From high spots to overcoming multiple finishes from Paul, Cena bit down and toughed this one out, winning with an Attitude Adjustment in the end.
C.M. Punk: C.M. Punk had a chance to win the World Heavyweight Championship in his Fatal-Four Way match and had it quickly snatched from him by Becky Lynch. This feels like the return of his wife, A.J. Lee, is imminent, since Punk needs some backup himself. I could see this match being a co-ed tag team match happening in the near future.
Roman Reigns: Roman Reigns defeated Bronson Reed on Sunday, and he finally won his shoes back. Afterwards, Reigns decided to get some payback on Paul Heyman, in which he ended up in the hospital with him after Bron Breakker showed up.
“Main Event” Jey Uso: Jey Uso stepped into the Fatal-Four Way match as a fan favorite and performed spectacularly. From well-timed spots to devastating moves, Jey did all he could to win the championship but came up short in the end. NO YEET!
Bron Breakker: Bron Breakker and Bronson Reed continue to make waves in the WWE by being Seth’s henchmen. That was his role Sunday as he and Bronson Reed took out Reigns, giving him time to go make a movie for now.
Jacob Fatu: Jacob Fatu has finally caught up with his cousin Solo Sikoa in the numbers game. For now, Fatu has no match this weekend so he should be highly active this week. I can easily see him running into Solo Sikoa again, but this time, he gets the upper hand.
L.A. Knight: L.A. Knight also had a great match in the Fatal-Four Way match in the main event on Sunday. It didn’t go well for him due to Rollins retaining but Knight left it all out there. At one point, he missed one of the other wrestlers as he jumped from the ring, which led to him crashing through the table with no one there. This spot was amazing but it definitely looked like it hurt. YEAH!
Sami Zane: Sami Zane has made it back on the power rankings after defeating Solo Sikoa for the U.S. Championship. I warned Sikoa about his time on this list last week and now that Zane has stepped in as the executioner, Solo finds himself off this list and all alone. Congratulations on becoming the new U.S. champion, Sami, and good luck going forward.
