Imagine a dented, old soup can on the shelf. Now picture it in the discount aisle. Those are the soup cans nobody wants, the ones that took a beating. At one point, before they fell off the shelf, we all bought in. Now we realize that soup wasn’t ever that good. In boxing a tomato can is the fighter that takes those beatings. Gets beaten up, and never recovers. Becoming a shell of their former selves. In MMA and on the Fight Club of Pain, we call them Soup Cans. This is the Soup Can of the week for
UFC Abu Dhabi.
Marc-Andre Barriault (FD $8 | DK $6,600)
It was a hard pick this week but I chose Marc-Andre Barriault. He’s 6-5 with one no-contest in the UFC as I write this. He hasn’t landed a takedown since 2020. Barriault can’t take shots like he used to, and he isn’t getting any younger. The power Marc-Andre once had just isn’t really there anymore. Time to put him in the discount aisle with the other dented cans. I will not be picking Barriault in any DFS line-ups this week or anytime soon. This week I choose to stay away from soup, and go with meat and potatoes. Shara “Bullet” Magomedov by decision would be my prediction at a +240 odds. I’m also taking the moneyline plus distance parlay at +205, as well.
