Top MLB Prop Picks 5/3

Gunnar Henderson MORE Than 8.5 Fantasy Points

Henderson is having an MVP-type season through the first month of the year. He bats in the leadoff spot for the Orioles and has done serious damage with Adley Rutschman batting behind him. The Orioles are in Cincinnati tonight, one of the league’s most hitter-friendly ballparks, which only boosts Gunnar’s value.

Anthony Volpe MORE Than 0.5 Runs

The Yankees play the Tigers tonight and should be able to get their bats going again after a tough series vs. the Orioles. Volpe bats in the leadoff spot, so he will likely see five at-bats tonight. He has the power to drive himself in, the speed to put himself in scoring position after a walk or a single, and he hits in front of Juan Soto and Aaron Judge, two of the best run producers in baseball. Marcus Stroman LESS Than 6 strikeouts

Stroman has only recorded more than six strikeouts twice this season, and those were in matchups against the A’s when they were struggling and the Marlins, one of the worst teams in baseball. He is a good pitcher, but he’s not a strikeout pitcher, so I don’t expect him to reach what can be considered a high number for him in Ks.

George Kirby MORE Than 5 Strikeouts

Kirby has had at least six strikeouts in each of his past three starts. It’s no coincidence that he has been dominant overall in those three outings after having two horrible outings; people were beginning to question if he was injured or going to be a disappointment this season, but that seems to be behind him. Entering 2024, he was one of the best pitchers in the league, and lately, that’s exactly what he has been, collecting 19 Ks in his past 12 innings.

Marcus Semien MORE Than 0.5 Runs

You will probably notice a trend here. I am selecting another leadoff hitter in a good lineup. Statistically speaking, leadoff batters see the most at-bats in a game. Usually, they are the players who score a lot of runs on their team, and Semien fits that bill. He has great hitters batting behind him, and he also has the power to drive himself in.
